Adorable, well-constructed family of dolls!
I shopped around for about a month for a dollhouse and doll family for my two year old son's upcoming Christmas - I'm very busy, and don't like the crowds and rush in the fall. I wanted toys made of wood, without any brands or character attachments, with enough detail to be recognizable, but not fragile to toddler hands. I picked a dollhouse first, the Maxim Designed by You Dollhouse with Furniture. As far as doll families went, I took a lot longer to decide. Too many had negative reviews about having trouble posing them, their odd look, or their poor durability. I decided on this family after looking at other's by Plan Toy, Melissa and Doug, and Ryan's Room, based on price, the look of the dolls, and previous reviews. Although this family had no reviews, I took a shot, and I'm so pleased I did! These dolls are so cute. Their faces are sweet, and they're just the right size for the dollhouse. I measured them beside the dolls that came with it, and they're the same height (4 1/2 inches for the adults, 3 1/2 inches for the children, so 1:12 or 1" scale). Its neat how varied the materials to their clothes are: felt, corduroy, jeans, cotton. I love the little details to these dolls; grandma's hair is tied back in a braided knot, the little girl has a pocket on her dress, and the boy has a hood on his sweater that can be on or off. They're pretty well balanced, however it is sort of hard to make their feet level to the floor, so they stand cock-eyed. Sitting them down is easier, if they chair has a back. I balanced them on the back-less bench for a picture of size comparison to the furniture that came with the house. My only complaint for this little family is that the boy and dad both had bits of their yarn hair loose in the package with them. Not sure if this is a sign it might all come loose, but I hope not!A note - they have little Lego-like hook hands to hold accessories, which I didn't see on any of the other doll families. The are plastic, but seem pretty sturdy, but I'd still caution children not to try and force anything into them.

These are so stinking cute!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
Very cute, idk why some reviews say they're creepy. They're so adorable. I bought my son this set (he's 2) and last year I got him a different set from another brand. I really like the set he got, but these are def cuter!! Will probably send the old set to his Mimi's. He loves playing "knock on the door" and "hello everybody!!" His mimi got him a little house 2nd hand, and he needed some people to play with the house!Edit: owned a few months. The legs have become gimpy (is that a word?) I will NOT knock off any stars however. The other set that he has owned for 15 months none of the people have gimpy legs, but this was owned for 3 and their legs are gimpy. The reason WHY I will not knock off a star is because the curly haired red headed boy, Bob Jr, his father Bob Sr and the blonde, Mom, have become ICONIC in my house. They are played with every single day, they are loved, they make us Laugh. They bring us joy. Bob Jr is a rebel. call me crazy but I take photos of him on the regular and post him to my social media, captioning what he is doing. Bob Jr is apart of our family now, gimpy legs and all.

Adult dolls are SHORT!
I purchased this set of dollhouse dolls for our grandchildren. They are very nicely made, and very detailed. They haven’t been played with very much yet, so I can’t say anything about their durability. The one thing that is weird about the set, though, is the height of the adult dolls. The correct information is clearly stated in the description, so I was not surprised. But at a 1:12 standard dollhouse scale, these dolls are 4.3”, which means that all of the adults are 4’3” tall! That height does not reflect an average adult height. The child dolls are 3.5” tall, which is equivalent to 3’6”, and that is the height of our grandchildren right now, so it is perfect. It just seems strange that the adult dolls are so short. The grandchildren love them, though, and are delighted with the Hape dollhouse furniture sets I also purchased for them for Christmas. We are using them in an IKEA Flisat dollhouse, mounted on the wall 13.5” above the floor, with two small, wooden stools also from the IKEA Flisat collection stored under the dollhouse, which makes play convenient and fun. I even play sometimes myself!

Very cute, really good price for excellent quality.
These are so cute. Each has its own personality and colorful clothes. The description does not make this fact really clear, but the legs and arms are completely bendable, i.e., they will bend at the elbows and knees as well as the hips. The large plastic shoes make it easy to stand them up. I bought them to use with the 18" plastic school bus, which is open at the top so that people can be placed on the seats. These dolls were the smallest I could find, and according to height I thought that they would fit in the school bus. They don't really fit, however, unless I bend them in unnatural positions, they sit on the floor, they sit sideways, or they sit with their feet up on the back of the next seat! The bus seats could have been constructed with more leg room, but another problem is the big shoes the dolls wear, which don't fit in the small foot space on the bus. But as I said, the shoes allow you to stand the dolls up. I almost returned them, but I really like the dolls, the price seems low to me for the quality, and we (my granddaughter and I) can either use them (in their awkward positions) in the bus, just play with them, or use them with another toy. I also bought the African-American family; the same comments apply.
