Good, Bad, and ..well.. not terribly ugly..
So I'm new to Savage Worlds, but otherwise an old grognard of a gamer. I'd been keeping tabs on this product on here for a short while and snatched it up when I saw it on sale for about $10 off the full price. Value for my money? Pretty good. Worth it at the full $25 price? Not so much.So let's get to my main points:Good - the art style of these looks nice. While I think they could have put a little more style into the general background layout of the cards, it reminds me of a page from an explorer's field journal such as Dr. Jones Sr. had in Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Last Crusade which is probably what they were going for. So it fits with the general "pulp" feel of Savage Worlds' core material.Good - the adventure deck has many cards which can be used to add some house rules in other games, all with the proper rule adjustments.Bad - the card material could be higher quality, these feel like the same type of cards you get from a trading card game, and I don't think they'll stand up well to a lot of use. Right out of the box they feel like they're going to start falling apart as soon as I've gotten the deck broken in.Neutral - I'm playing with young kids, so I may need to keep some of the cards with more graphic artwork out of their sight. This won't work well with the action deck, because then I'd be missing key face cards. If nobody minds a bit of blood or severed heads, all should be fine.I wish they could get the cost down and sell these for a lower price, especially since you can get a very durable deck of standard playing cards for less than $5. I recommend them, but recommend buying them on sale.

excellent, if not overpriced, addition to savage worlds.
I am an avid Savage Worlds fan and have both played and ran it many times (I am currently running a Pirates campaign with a splash of fantasy). The system is great and so versatile. I finally took the plunge and picked these cards up and have mixed feelings.Quality: the cards are sturdier than plain cardboard but are not anything spectacular. They kind of stick together at first so be ready for that. Another reviewer recommends sleeving then and I second that heartily (at least the adventure cards).Adventure deck: The adventure deck is superb. Most people (myself included) purchase these cards just for the adventure deck. They add such flavor and excitement to the game and force the GM to stay on his toes. Some of my players most talked about gaming highlights have come from using these cards in a critical moment. The action deck: Meh .. It is a standard deck of playing cards with some savage world art on the face cards (only). Nothing exciting here although I am sure you will use them for most of your SW campaigns.Value: this is definitely the products weakest point. twenty five bucks (msrp) for two decks of cards (one being a standard deck)? This is way to much especially considering the SW core book is less than half the price. I think pinnacle should cut the price of these cards in half or make a bundle package with the core book, the cards, some dice, and some bennies.Overall: if you are an avid SW fan than these cards are worth it. The adventure deck does add a lot and the action deck is neat. If you just dabble in SW I would suggest getting a setting book or a companion book instead.

The Adventure Deck makes it all worth it
I really love the Adventure deck. As the description says, it has a number of cool effects and interrupts. It's simultaneously made my players more engaged and encouraged me to be more willing to improvise as a GM. When the players play a card and completely change the tide of a battle (or otherwise pull off an amazing feat) it doesn't feel like a gimmick or cheating, it feels heroic. Some of the best moments in our campaign were the result of these cards. However, 20 dollars is an awful lot to pay for the adventure deck, and the action deck (aka normal playing cards), just isn't all that spectacular. The art on the facecards is cool, but not cool enough that I would buy it on its own. I would prefer it if they sold the action and adventure decks separately, but they don't. I would say fifteen dollars of the value is in the Adventure deck and five is in the action deck.

Good Cards, Bad Box
I like the quality of the cards, and they definitely meet their purpose, but they should absolutely come with two small boxes to keep the cards in. What am I supposed to do with two loose decks of cards? I don't want to slap a rubber band on cards if I like them, and the single big box doesn't work as good storage once the plastic has been removed from the individual decks.

Great art, good cards
The art on the cards is well worth the price. The quality of the cards could be just a little better but I think a large part of that is that they aren't laminated like normal playing cards. I'll order another set of these when this set wears out.

time for fun
love how these cards add to the adventure and the action cards pop right out when they are dealt, the low side is the thick and glossy ness of the action cards makes their corners bend after a couple suffles, would love to see them in playing card stock.

Art is nice, cards are very low quality.
Serves their intended purpose, but expensive.

Not really a toy, but very useful for savage worlds
These cards are made of decent quality board stock and are very pretty to look at. The actio deck is useful for getting in the mood of the game, but the adventure deck is the real gem of the package. The flexibility that the cards give the players for interacting with the game is great. Can't wait to use them in a game.
