Does Not Work
I'm downgrading this from 5 star to 1 star. I will give it Zero star if possible. The Natural Gas alarm have no use. It works when I press the test button so it gives me peace of mind. Well I got home today and the whole house smells gas because my Mother in law this time operated the gas range the wrong way. She was not able to make the fire light up and at the same time did not close the the switch completely. I asked her what time she used the range, she said around 12:pm. Well we got home at 4:20pm and the house smells gas up to the second floor. The plug in alarm is right next to the range and did not even alarm to give warning to my Mother-In-Law that the gas was not shut off properly.I again tested the alarm by letting the gas from the range an put it right next to the gas source. The alarm did not even work after 5 minutes of test. I tried to change the position of the alarm by putting it face down to the gas source and this time it did work. Well this is a plug-in type which is installed on the wall. The design of this will never work as it only work when you have it face down to the source.-------------------------------I bought this combo item after coming home to the smell of natural gas in my home that my Mom did not detect. The product is easy enough to install. I was able to plug in the natural gas/carbon monoxide detector right close to where the stove is. I also installed the smoke detector right on our kitchen ceiling which I cannot do before because the cheaper smoke/fire alarm would always go off. The Natural Gas/Carbon monoxide have not trip off so far but it does work when I press the test button so I would assume and hope that it is working properly. The smoke alarm have sounded 2x since I installed the product about 2 or 3 months ago. Both happened when the water from the food being boiled have dried up. The smoke alarm alerted us quickly preventing the food to and the casserole to completely go to waste.

Great replacement, beats the old system, 19 80's version, hands down. Having the gas detector was an additional bonus! Great product at a great price!!

High Quality, Economical and Vital
Combo alarm for fire, smoke, carbon monoxide and natural gas. Portable and vital safety items for anyone, especially someone without a sense of smell (re: smoke and natural gas). Necessity for college housing - on and especially off campus.

Must Have!
The alarm was installed in the basement, and just a few months later picked up a gas leak just outside the house, making this alarm incredibly valuable! Don't think we would have realize the gas line outside the house was leaking and seeping into the basement without this.
