Size:Thickness 1/16" CeraTex 3170 Ceramic Fiber Paper is an alumino-silicate ceramic fiber based non-woven fabric. It is manufactured through a special paper-making process with high purity washed fibers, suitable for high temperature insulation up to 2300°F. CeraTex 3170 features with low thermal conductivity, excellent corrosion resistance, heat and flame resistance, light weight, good flexibility and handling strength. Used as insulation for a model steam boiler
I am using this to wrap around the outside of a small boiler for a model live steam boat to provide insulation. Works well for that purpose, increasing the efficiency of the boiler. I don’t know how it stands up to very high temperatures, as the boiler only goes up to around 300 degrees F. The material cuts easily; perhaps even a bit fragile with some tendency to tear or shred. Delivered sooner than promised.

Works as well as you need it to.
I used this with letter stencils to make a name plate for a fused glass dog portrait. I was worried the letters were too small, but it picked up all the detail. It is thin so you have to be careful not to pull on it or it will tear.

worth it
I have used this fiber paper for numerous firings. It does fall apart somewhat, but overall is a good price.
