Olina natural sheep horn comb
This is a review for the Olina narrow-tooth 5.9" light colored sheep horn comb without handle. It's beautifully crafted, lovely to look at, and a pleasure to use. Smooth and well polished. It's also well presented in a red box with yellow satin lining , so it would make a great gift. The box is packed with a little card with a message that I found endearing :) It reads as follows:THANK YOUThank you for choosing and trusting us.In the vast network, meeting you, is our lucky. When you open the package,I hope you can feel our sincerity. We are grateful to cherish your trust.Wish your life of peace, joy and happiness! If you are satisfied, please give us a praiseand share your happiness with friends andfamily around. If you have any questions, please let usknow, we will strive to handle for you assoon as possible. Please be assured thateverything we do is to let you have apleasant shopping experience. With your support, we will do better.Grateful to you, with us along the way.The back of the card also gives maintenance tips (nothing unusual):1.Keep away from fire2. Avoid throwing, bending and high temperature3. Don't put in the sun longer exposure4. Keep it in a ventilated environment. The size of the comb is: 5 7/8" long at its longest point, 1 3/8" wide at the ends and 1 13/16" at the center, the thickness is less than 1/4" at the center tapering down to 3/16" at the ends. The teeth spacing is 14 teeth per 1 1/2" or 15 teeth per 4 cm.I've had this comb for two months now and it's one of my favorites. I'm very happy with. It's well worth purchasing and I would recommend it to anyone.

Caution, fragile
These are beautiful combs, with good weight, good tooth spacing for my needs, and the size is good too. My only complaint it that they are fragile, and I've broken two! The first was my own fault. Mine did not lay FLAT on the counter, as it had a subtle "bend" to it. I thought that being a natural material, I could simply bend it back the other direction. Wrong! At the first presentation of slight pressure, it snapped in half. I certainly wouldn't try to carry it in a back pocket or anything similar where it could have any pressure applied. My second broke from a small fall off my bathroom counter to the marble floor. I would think they would be a little more durable than that. Again, beautiful, and I will continue to use, but just know that you need to handle with care.

Beautiful natural handcrafted product!
I'm really pleased with this purchase. It is, as others have commented, quickly shipped, lovingly packaged, and well manufactured. The comb feels sturdy and is well machined--no sharp edges, cracks, or design flaws that would appear to compromise its long-term use. I wet-comb my hair, and it did not seem to be affected by the exposure. However, I rubbed a little coconut oil into it after use, to ensure it does not dry out. I figured, what is good for my hair will probably be good for the comb since they are almost exactly the same material. I'll update later about how it holds up after some time.I'll say a word about the smell that others have commented on. This is a natural animal product, not a piece of plastic, so I'd be surprised if it didn't have a smell of some sort. Dry, it smells like nothing. Water brings out a faint smell that is exactly like the distinct odor of singed hair. I suspect because it's made of keratin and was likely ground and polished with friction or a hot implement. It's not an offensive or dirty smell at all. However, if someone else's comb smells funky, there might have been something else that infected that particular item. I did NOT find that the singed odor affected my hair. It worked great as a detangler, is gentle on my hair and scalp, and DOES eliminate static as advertised. Overall, I believe it truly deserves five stars.

No more plastic! Bought several sizes. Recommend 5.9" for thin shoulder length hair.
I LOVE these combs. I ordered the 5.9" comb and the 7" sheep comb. My hair is a thin, just-about-the-shoulder length. I used the 5.9" the most, it fits my hand well. I absolutely love that I'm not pushing plastic into my scalp as I comb my hair/head. I imagine people with longer, thicker hair may prefer the longer comb.I like these combs so well that I've even just ordered 3 more to give as gifts (as the other reviewers have said - they come so prettily boxed as is). And both times, my orders arrived promptly. The black 5.9" is pretty. The 5.1" looks perfect for really short hair, or for keeping in a purse or gym bag. I haven't tried the smallest size yet.The 5.9' comb that I've been using does have a slight curve to it that fits my hand (no biggie I still love using it). However, I admit I do occasionally comb when my hair is still wet. And when I have tangles, I pull my comb thru, so the curvature is probably due to one or both. I do not know whether it's better if to turn the comb around to pull pressure on the other side of the comb in order to straighten it out or to not worry about it.Never noticed any stinky smells.

Good, but not amazing.
The pros: works well as a comb, doesn't make my delicate hair fly all over with static. I like the length (I have the sheep strip comb). The cons: it stinks if you get it wet. A lot!! I'm very, very careful to not get it wet. As long as it doesn't get wet, it doesn't stink. The teeth are a little sharper along their edges than I would like, but it's not enough that I'm concerned about damaging my hair. The points on the teeth, however, are not as sharp as I'd like. They are quite blunt, and are not effective at lifting the hair off the scalp to comb it.The horn color is not as pretty as I was hoping. It has some natural cracks which in no way hamper the utility, but detract from the beauty (not as in broken cracks, just as in, this looks like fingernail ridges, if that makes sense, lol.)Overall, it's just ok. I prefer another brand comb which I ordered at the same time.
