If you're not used to using a glass nail file these will send you into a squirm-fest. They took a little getting used to, but after a few minutes I was filing away and they worked great. I'm thrilled that they won't wear down like regular nail files. However, when I asked my husband and daughter to give them a try they squirmed like someone was dragging their nails down a chalkboard and when they were done wiggling around and squealing both of them put down the file and walked away, lol. If you have similar sensitivities these files may not be a good fit for you, but I love them.

Amazing files, I have noticed that the "grit" is different on each one, the smallest has the finest, you can shape your nails with the middle and I guess the biggest one is for toenails, but I haven't used that one yet, I got this set mainly for the 2 smaller ones. I got the black set and they are beautiful and to me, elegant looking for a file anyway. I carry the smallest one in my purse and I don't see that one breaking, the seem quite sturdy, and the other 2 stay on my vanity, I have dropped the middle one but it was unharmed, I recommend these if you want a file that can shape and smooth the tips of your nails, it smooths better than any file I have tried, with every other file I usually am left with still "scratchy/sharp" nails that hurt if I accidentally scratch my face, not with these, they leave a very comfortable smoothness.

Good nail files, however don't drop them, they break easily.

As a massage therapist my nail trim must be short and smooth as glass, with no rough edges. These etched glass files buff your nail to perfection and never wear down, where classic emory boards grind to a rough finish (leaves hangnails) and lose grit on every pass. I'm sure there are other brands just as capable, this kit was the first I could find in any type of masculine color palate and the three sizes were perfect for one at home, one at work and one in my backpack.

Toss your crappy cardboard emery boards and those awful metal files. These glass files last forever and are amazing. Simply clean and rinse with soap as needed. These Mont Bleu files replace a Sephora nail file I had for several years before losing - the difference in quality is incredible. Spend a bit more and get actual crystal files that last forever. These just seem to have a crystal finish or coating that wears away fairly quickly.

I read about this type of file and gave it a try. Was not disappointed! This files gives my nails such a smooth finish that is never jagged. I now use these to trim my nails every other week instead of clippers. Love these and keep the smallest one in my purse, which takes up no space at all.

These DO NOT dull. Just rinse them under water and they are good as new. I occasionally have to order a new set because I am constantly misplacing the middle size file, which is the one I use the most- if I was less scatterbrained this would be the last set I would ever need! Beware of impostors that are coated and NOT etched!
