Tech-Rite Slim Laptop Attache Case Color: Charcoal

Took a bit longer to get this than Amazon purchases, and, once I got it, there were two workmanship issues - 1) one of the two straps that snap to the document folder to hold it against the top of the case was not attached on the case end - basically, the only thing holding the strap in the case was the snap to the document folder, and 2) one of the four plastic feet was split/shattered. Still, I was able to fix these issues, and the case is otherwise great - I've been unable to scratch or scuff the evidently anodized charcoal gray finish (I've not tried hard, but have been surprised that there are NO marks at all on the case after about two months of use). It would be nice if they improved their workmanship and QA checks before the case is sold, but it is still a good case.Edit December 2015: After five years of use, the finish has held up well. I'm not changing my rating of four stars However, one of the latches has just broken, thus rendering the case less useful, so, after spending some time looking at the alternatives, I'm likely going to order another one of these. I seen absolutely no reason to spend $500-plus on a Halliburton, and do not like the styling of the cases with separate corner reinforcement pieces, which leaves this case. Reading other reviews on this item, I do have to comment: I'm fairly certain that this is NOT intended as a laptop carrying case; it is a briefcase/attache case. It can work well as a laptop case, but don't expect a sleeve, or padding, etc (you might consider purchasing a separate padding sleeve if that is your preference). I've carried a number of different laptops in the case (Dell 4200, Microsoft Surface Pro 3, etc) without any additional padding other than that supplied by paper and such I was also carrying, and it holds them easily - not sure why a laptop needs extra padding (as others imply), anyway.

Very pleased with the quality. The velcro mounting of the file pockets, stops tearing when it is overstuffed. No complaints about quality.

This notebook case is very nice and sturdy. The case closes and locks nicely. A 17.5" laptop just fits in the bottom. The power cord fits in the case too. It has one flaw. The straps that hold the pockets in the top closed are just sewn in and have come apart. Something we can live with but it is not as neat.
