Effortless and High-Quality Yogurt Maker
The media could not be loaded. This yogurt maker exceeded my expectations. Using full fat organic milk and a Bulgarian starter culture, I achieved a wonderfully thick and delicious yogurt. The design is elegant and functional. A thermometer is a useful addition. Highly recommend for any kitchen.

A great size a neat idea
Brilliant. Who knew a flask like this could make yogurt. It’s neat and can’t go wrong

Maybe I got a faulty one but it didn't work for me.
Now before people start questioning my yogurt making skills and assuming I did it all wrong, I'll clear that up and straight away admit that I'm a novice at yogurt making. However that's not the issue, my issue is temperature. The first time I attempted it, I followed the instructions and 8 hours later when I removed the jar it was at room temperature. After a recheck the instructions say that in cold weather it may be advantageous to surround the jar with warm water inside the flask. Well the room temp. was around 19c degrees so not exactly cold but I thought I'd give it a try anyway, but again the result was the same.So I thought I'd do a little experiment. I removed the jar and filled the flask with hot water, replacing the lid.Within a couple of minutes I knew there was an issue because the outer surface of the flask was 9 degrees hotter than the ambient temp. of the room. The flask was obviously losing heat through the walls. I left it for an hour and when I removed the lid and checked, the water temp. inside had dropped 15 degrees. So, the flask was not effective for heat retention.I also had a second issue.I buy glass jars with lids fairly regularly for food storage, and I can honestly say that the lid on this glass jar is probably the worst I've come across. It felt 'gritty' and almost seemed like I was on the wrong thread and took 2-3 attempts before I would even feel comfortable screwing it home fully

Does what it says
Good quality product, with clear user instructions. It does what it says and looks like something that will last. Very happy with it indeed and use it regularly.

Very impressed
My first thought after unboxing was that it was going to be a waste of money, the main body is just basically a sort of thermos but with a fairly loose lid that doesn’t seal like a thermos, the jar however is very nice, but I don’t think it would hold up to boiling water, and it is a bit smaller then advertised at 800ml.How wrong I was, my first batch yesterday I used a carton of semi skimmed UHT, mixed in 2 tablespoons of whole milk powder, and heated it to 110f then whisked in a bulgarian yoghurt starter culture, put the jar in the thermos thing, put it box in the box it came in and put it in a warm area of 20c, wrapped a towel around it and left it overnight, 10 hrs later I had a thick set yoghurt, which got firmer after chilling it in the fridge.Taste wise it was lovely, thick creamy and not too sour, just right, even my fussy husband liked it.I am on my second batch and this time trying a L salivarius strain, which is a more fussy culture, it has been going 10 hrs and I have just tested the temperature and it has only dropped 10f in 10hrs, so I shall leave it a bit longer, I have put some bubble wrap around it to keep the heat in even longer. As for the smaller then expected jar this isn’t a problem for me because all my other 1 litre mason jars fit in it, and one of them is in the fermenter atm with the salivarius strain.I am so pleased with it i am thinking of purchasing another

It works !
This was delivered yesterday & my first thought when unpacking was , it's bigger than expected but pure quality, the stainless steel container is really very smart. After washing both items, warming the canister with hot water, set about making some yoghurt with a starter & boiled / cooled / full fat milk, then leaving for the rest of the day & overnight.......I checked after only 7 hours & nothing had happened, but jar was still warm. This morning, I had trouble opening the canister, it's quite wide & for a small hand it would be helpful to have some sort of grip on the smooth stainless steel lid. However on opening the jar I found beautiful smooth, tasty, Yoghurt. It's now in the fridge as directed & will be tried later today.I love the appearance & the idea I can fill this, leave it & not worry about remembering to switch off like my electric yoghurt maker. As for the booklet , I haven't had time yet to read it.All in all this is a buy I recommend , smart, easy to use & makes successful yoghurt with minimal fuss.
