I love Douwe Egberts brand and this variety is my favorite. It is a medium blend so flavorful without being bitter.

Product is still great quality & taste. Not sure how long I can say this with the civil unrest in that area.

As a coffee lover, once you've experienced Douwe Egberts, all else pales in comparison. As many reviewers have already stated, my wife and I tasted this coffee in a fine dining establishment and had to know what it was. Since then, when we happen upon it in our travels, we know it immediately by the distinctive, pleasing aroma and taste. As a matter of fact, whether or not Douwe Egberts is served has become a major rating criterion for us when considering dining establishments. I have been on pins and needles awaiting its arrival and ran at once to the coffee maker after ripping open the mailing container. I am not disappointed and I am savoring my first cup as I write this review. BUY SOME! You'll be glad you did.

This is my favorite Dutch ground coffee brand, which was founded in the 1700s. I've been consuming their "Excellent Arome" blend for many years. The brand merged with another Dutch company in recent years. However, I was thrilled to find Excellent Arome here on Amazon and just bought a pack. PROBLEM 1: The item I received was Arome Gold, NOT the item shown and described by the seller. PROBLEM 2: The original best-by date listed on the back was 6 months ago! Plus, there's an updated expiration date on the side which is identical to the date on the back, except the year reads "2025". Unopened ground coffee still retains its flavor 3 or 4 months after the expiration date. But after 6 months? Two different best-by or expiration dates on the same package is misleading and unacceptable.

Only setbacks are the cost

I just started drinking coffee, with this specific brand, and version, suggested to me, by my boss at work. I have never drank coffee. The aroma, is awesome, when it starts to percolate in my Mr. Coffee, (Yeah, I bought a small one on here, also!). It has a depth of flavor, and I don't use much per each time I make this. When I was kid, I used to love coffee candy. Now as an adult, I add just a bit of sugar, and I get flashbacks of this delicacy in candy, that I used to enjoy.

I had this coffee on a cruise ship for the first time. I asked what kind of coffee and they told me Deuwe Egbert. I love this coffee!
