FJC 6698 R134A/R12/R22 Dual Aluminum Gauge Set with Case

Seemed like a quality product at first. Well packaged. I've owned for 2 years which sounds like a good metric however I've only had to use this 5 or 6 times in 2 years. I went to use it the other day and my high side knob is leaking and the charge hose is leaking.Soo 6 uses and 2 seals have gone bad. I took care of this and am not the type to over tighten. I'm a 12 year mechanic only use this for side jobs.The bad hose seal is an easy fix however the manifold will be more of a chore.

After Searching and Searching online for Gauges I could use on my Car (134a) AND on my House (R22) I stumbled upon these bad boys.Only Complaint per say it that the Knobs don't have any Direction to open or close written on them. But that’s not really a big deal if you pay attention to what you are doing.I Fixed my PT Cruiser AC with these gauges and a few days later Checked to make sure my home AC (a 1970's Carrier Package unit!) was working properly.As always make sure you wear gloves!Having some HVAC training would be a good idea as well.

Gauges work OK. The hose setup is kind of Mickey Mouse with you having to use adapters for the R134a tank and the vac pump. In a fast paced shop I was looking for more.

Great product and decent quality.I was looking for a while to get a set of gauges that can be used on cars as well a homes and I stumbled on these.Overall the quality seems good and the carrying case definitely helps with storage. There is even some room inside if you wanted to store a UV flashlight and a pair of UV glasses for doing leak tests.The knobs on the manifold do not have directions for open and close but they work just like another other valve (CW close and CW open).The R-134a connectors have the direction stamped on it. I prefer the manual connectors for the R-134a because in the past I have used the auto/quick connect (borrowed from a friend) and found that they did not open the valve on the ac system, which resulted in being unable to pull a vacuum, leaving air in the system. Which lead me to by my own set and go for the manual connectors.The connectors included in this kit are strong and have 6 balls to hold the connector on the fitting and go on and come off smoothly with little effort.The only complaint I have is that the location in the case where the manifold sits should be redesign to give a little more room around the center fitting on the manifold. The center fitting presses against the inner wall causing the manifold to not sit flush in its spot. Not a big deal as it is minimal contact.Just a side not for those using the manual connectors where you have to open the valves on the auto ac system. Only turn the valves until the pressure is shown on the gauges, and go a little more. You do not want to open all the way until it stops as you may damage the schrader valve in the fitting of your car. I do not know if these connects go that far down, but I know some others can and it is better to be safe then sorry.

Great but hanger wire did not have the nut to hold it. Gauges worked great.

I'm a do-it-yourselfer, and this seems to work very well. No complaints.

Works as advertised. I like the carrying case. The only thing is that it must be completely dissembles before putting into case. Otherwise great product.

The aluminum manifold and valves seem to work ok. Unfortunately the second time using this gauge set the low side gauge became inaccurate by 50 psi of what was actually in the system. Secondly the hoses do not have the traditional square cut packing but seem to seal on pressure and vacuum. The manifold should not have any issues but be aware of lower quality gauges.
