Size:with Gauge, PVC, 36cc/Stroke This hand-operated polyvinyl chloride vacuum pump has a new handle design which makes it more durable. Furnished with a handy vacuum gauge the pump can quickly attain and hold a vacuum of 25 inches (635mm) Hg. Vacuum trigger release requires only one hand to operate and releases vacuum with the touch of an index finger. Adjustable vacuum release rate is controlled by a trigger on the pump. This pump has a pumping rate of 36cc/stroke and 12psig (.84 bar) positive pressure at the exhaust port. Full blank port pressure is obtained with only two strokes. The pump has a removable cover on the exhaust port and a trigger to release vacuum without disconnecting pump from the line. It can be disassembled for repair or replacement of internal parts. Comes with a vacuum gauge. The nozzle fits standard 1/4 inch I.D. tubing and it is supplied with a two-foot length of clear plastic tubing. Material: polyvinyl chloride body. Pumping rate: 36cc/stroke. Positive pressure at exhaust port: 12psig (.84 bar). Fits 1/4 inch I.D. tubing. Nalgene #: 6132-0020.

Handle breaks and 6x more expensive than previously
Bought this pump in 2015 for $143 less than what it's listed for now. The plastic handle recently broke, replaced this pump with an almost identical metal one (both made by Mityvac): Silverline Elite Hand Pump MV8510

Not Nalgene.
It works, and does what the specs say. Hand vacuum pumps are the most cost effective way to experiment with vacuum. I purchased this same hand operated vacuum pump under the name Mityvac MV8000, including a pressure gauge (0-30 inHg and 0-(-100) kPa,) and a set of adapters and short tubing for automotive diagnosis at Harbor Freight for $39.99. Look at the image on this page and you'll even see the mityvac logo on the handle. Instead of buying it relabeled and at marked up price, look here: Automotive Vacuum Test and Bleed Kit . If you want to spend this much, try an electric vacuum pump such as: Mastercool (MSC90062A) 3.0 CFM Single Stage High Performance Deep Vacuum Pump .
