Flojet R4525743A 4.5 GPM VSD Pump

Works well, but is a bit noisier than I expected. At full output it's probably just as noisy as the Shurflo I previously used.

I can't say for sure if my unit is working right, but I am regretting my decision to buy this pump. The issue I am having is that the pump is not anywhere near silent (to me, it kind of sounds like it is galloping... for lack of a better term) and there is inconsistent flow.Part of my regret in buying the unit is because of this potential problem, but even aside from that, I don't think it is very compatible with instant hot water heaters. In my first call to tech support, the guy told me that the instant hot water heaters have narrow tubing and he seemed to indicate that could be part of the problem. I am able to remove the water heater from the plumbing line with a few valves, however, so I am confident that having it in there isn't the issue. It *may* be a problem that there isn't a 5 or 7 gallon water heater tank in the system, however, since my water heater doesn't have such a tank. I did end up adding a pressure accumulator tank to see if it helped or hurt. This did help my water heater function better (I don't think the VSD pump was able to start up the water pressure fast enough to trigger the instant heating well enough) but the pump is still nowhere near smooth and silent.Tech support wants me to rig up the pump outside of the trailer with a ball valve on a piece of tubing to test it -- obviously they want to rule out if my plumbing system is the problem. I guess that I'll do that when I find some time and gather the parts. I may just reinstall my old pump first as that will probably be easier and see how things go.I really wish that the tech support people would just let me send this pump back to them to test it. Maybe I'll call back and push for that course of action.

I have this mounted to the side of a shed for pumping water to an irrigation system, and its perfect. The variable speed for pressure keeps it quiet.The other review had 3 stars... I felt obligated to review my honest opinion here.

If you decide to purchase this product make sure its sold by Amazon and not a third party. THe first one we purchased was sold via a third party and after about 2 months the item stopped working and to this day we have yet to be able to return it. The company made it very difficult to return. We bought another one sold BY Amazon and so far we havent had any problems with it. The unit is a bit loud and doesnt have enough pressure to push the water through our filters on the boat. Since we use the water just for showering and so forth we just removed the filter and it provides great pressure. Easy install.

Love this pump. does not pulse and clcle like standard pumps.
