A great turkey vest obviously designed by a turkey hunter.
A great turkey vest obviously designed by a turkey hunter. The rubber feet are designed to be removable, so if you don't want to lose them, tape or glue them on the shaft. The only real criticism often stated by other reviewers is the weak magnets on the cushion. That is a true and accurate short coming and needs to be addressed by Tenzing. I added a clip to the single strap on the center of the cushion and clipped it the female clip I added to the center back of the vest to keep the cushion in the stowed position. Like most accomplished turkey hunters I seldom if ever find myself in a run and gun situation when turkey hunting so not being able to jump up, stow the cushion while running is a non-issue. The other item mentioned regarding stowing the legs is also a non-issue, which can be hooked on the go by using the plastic loops if so desired. Now that I own and have used this vest (coyote) hunting as a field trial before turkey season opens, I find all of the less than 5 star ratings a little disingenuous. I would not only buy it again, I have recommended it to my hunting buddy who has bought the same vest and loves it as much as I do. He too taped the rubber feet on the legs and added a clip to the cushion. I do think it would be helpful if there was a description of the various features and intended use of each of the pockets. I stow things as I like, but through trial and error made changes that knowing the intentions may have been helpful. For example: I came to realize the small Velcro tabs in the center pouch in the back of the pack is for the water bag hook on my hydro pack. This thing has every little thing thought out and placed in the perfect place. I added my strap on knee pad for a gun rest and now have the perfect turkey setup. You can not go wrong buying this vest. I have seldom purchased anything for hunting that a slight tweak here and there failed to make it better for me. The same goes for this vest, but it is darn near perfect right out of the box!Update: I over extended one leg in the dark and broke the adjuster lock mechanism when I leaned too hard. I called Tenzing and they sent me a free pair of replacement legs. Amazing customer service. I have hunted coyotes, Bobcats and turkeys and have found setups in a pasture in front of a 2 foot cedar Bush, a clump of grass and in a small ditch possible with my Tenzing. It also works great in the conventional tree set up.I always take it off and set it up then sit down to hunt which makes it fast and simple. I also stow everything before putting it on to move. I still consider it the perfect Turkey, Coyote, Bobcat, etc., hunting accessory.

Good vest
If you have read any reviews you already know the cons of this vest. The plastic caps on the ends of the poles come off fairly easy so I super glued them as soon as I got the vest. If the poles are extended and you don't slide the keepers to their original position you will have trouble reaching them. I haven't had any issues with the magnets not holding the seat as others stated in reviews. I am a BIG man, 6'4" and 380lbs and this vest fits me with room to spare on the front straps. The only issue I have is the straps on the sides of the vest could be a little longer so the pockets are closer to the front of me and not back on my sides. It really is more of a preference than an issue and I assure you most hunters won't have to worry about this unless you are bigger than me. This vest has plenty of room as far as fit and storage. Some smaller guys complained that the vest is too big but I let my buddy try it and from what I've saw you have to be on the smaller side for the vest to be aggravating. I paid just over $200 for this vest and let me tell you, it wasn't easy for me to spend that kind of money on a vest. But, I have searched for a good quality vest, that fits me, and my needs for over two years now and this vest is the only one that suits me. Close to 25 years ago I bought a vest made by Bucklick Creek for $70 that I will still use for turkey and coyote hunting and using that vest for that long should say something about its quality This vest is now sold at Bass Pro with a different name on it and costs $100 I believe and is far less quality than the one I bought years ago. What I'm getting at is I have searched for a vest with this type of quality materials that my old vest has and have only found a couple vests that will compare and the Tenzing is one of them. You can still find good quality but you will pay for it and sometimes you pay a lot for bad quality. If you have the opportunity go to a local store and put hands on this vest and then compare the quality materials to all the other vests you can find and you will see what I'm saying. Again there are a couple other vests of good quality and cheaper price tag but this vest suits my needs and more importantly fits me. This vest has room for anything and everything you need and can think of for your hunt and more. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again if I had to do it again. If you want quality and comfort this is a great vest for you
