Makita D-00810-25 5/32" x 6-1/4" Sds-Plus Bit, 25/Pk, Stainless Steel

If youre burning up these bits its because you dont have proper concrete drilling technique.Ive had bosch bits from home depot. ive had german bits from teh contractor supply. These are the cheapest and the highest quality bits.Most of you noobs break your bits because a. you dont know how to drill b. the bit isnt true when you start. If your bit is out of true it will wear down faster. Especially under the greater impact force of an SDS drill. Aside from teh impact causing you to bend the bit. Most of the bits i used were never perfectly true even knew. So far all of these makita are.I install windows so they get heavy use. But these are great bits. Im a professional not a DIYer. You wont find any better bits, besides the huge savings. I dropped my drill 2 days ago and bent the bit to about.... 38*. I hand bent it back straight and drilled 15 more windows with it.I can drill the windows in 3 houses before i break a bit. But work with other guys like some of you..... who manage to snap it on the first window they drill. It aint the bit, its the driller!!!!!!!!!Oh and contractor supply locally was the cheapest before this. At $2.50 per bit.

Great drill bit it holds up really well. 1 drill bit made 35 holes before it burned out. I think that’s really good. The tile was super hard . I used to buy the ones at home depot for $7 each but these one are the same quality or better

Wow! 25 for $22.99Works just as well as the $6 individual from HomeDepot.Finishing the basement with 1x3 grid using 3/16 tapcons and broke the $6 bit 20% of the way through the job.Looked on Amazon and found this 25 pack for $22.99. I am not done yet but am over 60% and have broken 1 of these, so same or better failure rate, and I'm done with the awkward positions on floor and top row.If you are reading this you probably own a rotary hammer. If you don't and are going to sink more than 20 screws in concrete buy a rotary hammer.I have the cheapest one. The 18volt Ryobi. Most of the holes (3/4"wood 1" foam 2 1/4" concrete) by 5/32" take 10 seconds and instead of cleaning out the hole its deep enough to just drive the tapcon.

The price was right for as fast as my guys were going to brake them.

Used a Dewalt D25303DH and this bit just seems to drill effortlessly.

I thought that being a Makita product it would be a good drill bit. The price was really good and I had a lot of concrete screws to put in. There were three bits that were the wrong size which wasn't a big deal because I had plenty of bits with the others to do what I needed. I tried three bits two of which failed after three or four holes and the last one I tried didn't even do one hole. I'm returning these bits and getting Bosch bits which I have used for years with very good success.

I had been buying Bosch bits at a local retailer for nearly $10 each and they were breaking left and right. One actually broke off on the first hole! Then I found this 25 pack of Makita bits and kicked myself for not checking on Amazon first. The bit held up great and zipped through the concrete in seconds. I went through about ten of the Bosch bits and it only took one of these Makita bits to finish the job and at a lot cheaper price!

Pro: you get a lot of them for thirty bucks - yes, it comes to $1.20/bit.The Con: you have to run them much slower than the Bosch.My problem with the Bosh is that the bits were susceptible with shearing, but I ran them at fairly high speed.After having three Bosch bits go away fast on me, I figured i'll have more (way more) with this purchase.I ran the Makita at the same rpm with the Bosch, and these things were melting very fast.i did attach pictures with two of them with melted tip. By the length, it is clear they did not shear, but they sure lost the tip right away.So I slowed the rpm down, way down, and than you could use them nicely.The Bosch has an operating speed of 1100 rpm - I don't see any speed rating on these things but I can share with you my experience: you have to run them really slow.So this is the difference in-between a $8.50 drill bit and a $1.20 drill bit.Slightly disappointed as I did expect lower quality with the lower price, but maybe not so evident like for my little project where I had just about 40 wholes to drill.The positive outlook: I'm still left wit a bunch of them ;)
