My favorite thumb picks
Have tried many brands and styles. This one is comfortable. It doesn't give me blue thumb or irritate my cuticle the way most picks do.

I Pick the Fred Kelley!
This pick fits my thumb (Large) perfectly and puts the pick at what I consider to be the perfect angle for striking the string. I'm generally a flat picker but do some finger picking. I recently tore off my thumb nail and, with a show coming up, was forced to look into thumb picks. I bought a couple of different types but the Fred Kelley felt the most natural and the transition from thumb nail to thumb pick was simpler than I thought it would be. I pick the Fred Kelley!

Fit is great, sound is great
Before these picks, my guitar instructor always complained he couldn't hear my bass notes when playing fingerstyle.. Well now he can! Adapting to this was easier and faster than I thought. I don't consider myself to have big hands but this medium/large was the right size for me. Fit is great, sound is great, material is perfect. My finger aches a little, and is a little cold on the end, after using this for a while. I assume I have to get used to it and take it off now and then to get full blood flow to my thumb

Paint from pick rubs off onto guitar strings
The painted letters on the picking side of pick comes off, onto guitar strings. When I first started using these thumb picks, I noticed that the new strings I had just installed on guitar were getting mucked up with some kind of material. Looking at the thumb pick, I saw that the painted letters were rubbing off.I kept the picks, because they fit ok, and just scraped the rest of the paint off the pick so it no longer happens.Update: Told Fred Kelly about this. They know it happens, due to defective paint. They recommend taking the letters off before using picks, with nail polish remover.

One of my "go-to" thumb picks
If you want to go with plastic thumb picks these are definitely a very solid choice. Their thickness is somewhat tapered towards the end which gives them a sensitivity that other plastic picks don't have. They also are very comfortable so even if you buy too small or large you can position them in a way that won't bother you.

Not for aggressive picking style
Unless you’ve retrained your index finger and thumb to use it as a flat pic, this pic doesn’t work well for someone with an aggressive picking style

Just right!
Just the right thumb pick for Travis-style or similar finger picking on my acoustic guitar. No irritating scrape or other non-human-object-striking-strings sound that’s so distracting. All I wanted was a way to squeak out a little more emphasis on the lower string(s).Also, I was apprehensive about the size - they look small, but they were fine! Unless you have Paul Bunyan hands (and you know who you are) they should work for you.I like that they’re smaller in profile as compared with what i’ve used. My last one was a big broad cellulose one that required a surgically delicate touch or it would overpower the chord. These are just enough and are more in keeping with my natural finger picking; I don’t have to think or calibrate, just go.

Too tight
Even the large ones are too small
