She is at about a 9th grade reading level at this point and reading things like Little Women
My daughter is 8 and very interested in the changes that are going to be happening to her body. She has had lots of questions lately. She is at about a 9th grade reading level at this point and reading things like Little Women, so I got her this book. It is about at a 5th or 6th grade reading level. She had read it 3 times and it explains things in very simple, concise terms, then gives little situations about the subjects discussed as real life examples she may face. She loves it and says she feels much more comfortable. She has also been able to come to me with more developed and detailed questions about growing up because she had better basics.

Attractive cover
The colors pop well drawing the eye to the cover of the book, also has glitter on it. Hopefully it will draw the attention of my daughter and she will read it.

Very informative
Very informative for my 9yr old granddaughter. She said that she learned so much about her body that she didn't know or didn't understand.

A great book for growing girls
I like how it explains in detail, yet in a simpler way for growing girls to understand how to take care of themselves and their bodies.

Disappointing book
I bought this book for my 12 year old based on the reviews. It felt like a great way for her to get additional information about her body beyond what I have talked with her about. It was also fairly cheap, so it seemed like a good deal. The spine cracked the first time I opened it and pages are already falling out. I'm not going to try to replace it, though, as the content is just as terrible as the quality of the binding. The first page has an illustration with the label "fun, flirty, and fabulous!" Like, what? This book is for girls entering puberty and one of the first images they see is labeled as that? It does not get better. The first "diary" entry talks about no one wanting to see someone in too tight clothes (which dressing for other people should not be the message). They also talk about getting body shapers to slim bellies and butts and suggest kids go to a tailor. There is some good information sprinkled throughout, but, overall, this book is not one I want my daughter reading. It is hard enough to be a girl in today's society without getting even more messages that the goal is to be thin and surface level. If the Justice store were a book, it would be this one.
