Hodgson Mill Mix Seasoned Coating Gf

I have purchased this once, and I just finished the third box. We have only tried it on baked chicken so far. The first two boxes were used on chicken thighs and breasts with skin, the last on skinless. I am going to stick with the skinless since it is healthier and the coating tastes good either way.From now on I am going to divide the enclosed bags into two or three servings. Today I baked 2 pounds of thighs and a pounds of breasts and I still have seasoning left over. With a more normal, single family meal I end up with lots more left over. Also, I have used olive oil (first box), egg (second), and water(third, skinless) to dunk the chicken in before coating and I think the olive oil was probably the best, as I think it may have made the coating crisper. The egg made the coating stick alright, but it stuck to the pan more than the chicken.

Just what I have been looking for. Not only does it give chicken a grateful taste, but it make awesome gravy.

I followed the directions to make fried vegetables. (onion rings). The resulting rings were so salty that I found them difficult to eat. Would not recommend using these for this purpose.

I had a horrible allergic reaction to something in this mix. I called the company to see what it contained and was told the ingredients are proprietary. That's cool, but there is something in there that had my face swelling up. I called them again to see if it had allergens I know bother me- wheat, corn, garlic, MSG or yeast. They said no, it didn't, but still wouldn't release the ingredients. I gave it away - don't want to risk another reaction. It's unfortunate because it tastes good.

I will use this mix and it does a very good job of coating but I don't like the spice blend that was used. I have to figure out how to mask the flavor.

Great fried chicken! Very crispy and tastes good, however, gravy didn't taste good at all! Overall I'd buy again because I love fried chicken and Country fried steak!

This coating mix is really good with so many different foods. It adds nice flavor without overpowering the food it is on. I'm on a Paleo diet and is equally good on meat and veg. This product is no longer carried in any store in my smallish city and was very pleased to find it on Amazon. I like it so much I give away boxes of my precious stock as gifts to very special people. :)

I used to buy this product at my local Wal-mart, and was disappointed when they stopped selling it. My family uses it to make fried chicken in the oven. Super yummy! Wouldn't even know it's gluten free. So happy we can buy this on Amazon.
