Thermo-Tec14610 24" X 36" Heat and Sound Suppressor

Be aware, that this is more of an extremely sticky tar like material with the heat shield. It’s not a fabric with a layer of adhesive and a layer of heat shield like most heat and sound dampener.Having said that, I really like this product. It was extremely easy to install, cut, and mold. Light pressure to install at first to tack it in place. It goes on and comes off really easy when you don’t completely press it down. Then go through with a heat gun (optional) and firm pressure to completely stick it to your item. Their website claims 300° direct contact and 2000°+ indirect contact. It seems to be working really well. I’ve only had it installed for about 2 weeks. I used it on the transmission tunnel of my side by side.

I bought this to line the underside of my Can Am side by side due to it being noisy and it emits an unbearable amount of heat in the Texas summer. This is an excellent product for sound deadening as well as a very good heat barrier. I recommend this product and will be purchasing more and installing it as soon as possible. It is a little pricy but worth every penny.

This was easy to cut, easy to install, easy to work with. I am very impressed with the durability of this material, the adhesion is remarkable, and the heat reflection is exactly what I needed.

Cuts easy, installs easy. Used if for underlay in Jeep for carpet. Around does not go as far as I thought it would, so make sure you measure and plan accordingly. Have not installed carpets over yet it used a lot as still working the project. Thus, can’t tell you how it does for watmth, insulation, and such.

I bought this to line the underside of the plastic body work on my ATV (Four-Wheeler). I had purchased an aftermarket exhaust system which produced significantly more heat than the stock pipe. I always ended up with a painful red spot on my lower calf from where I would get burned THROUGH the plastic body work. I measured the temperature of the plastic that was burning me at 120-125 degrees. I purchased this and set to work on pulling the body work off. Once I had it removed, I could see where there was factory heat reflective tape, but it was as thin as tin foil. I also located a few spots on inner plastic that had been completely melted. I thoroughly cleaned the area where I was going to be putting the new Thermo-Tec and started cutting it to fit. I put it over the factory heat reflective tape and also lined anywhere that came close to the exhaust system.The material was fairly easy to work with and cut. I used scissors to cut and shape the material and they gummed up pretty quickly, so be prepared to use some throw away scissors. I could have used a razor or cutting knife but wanted the precision of the scissors. The backing is very adhesive so you only get one shot with placement, but you also know that this stuff is not going to just fall off.Since completing the job, the plastic maxes out an a high temperature of 100 degrees. That's a drop of 20-25 degrees and no longer causes any discomfort, let alone 1st degree burns.My riding style is water and mud, so this stuff has been submerged in both and is still holding strong. The only negative, if it even matters really, is that it does add some additional weight. the material itself weighed as much as my plastic body work itself.....which took it from 4lbs to 8lbs. This was not a concern at all for my but felt I should mention it for someone with a larger project where weight may be a concern.

In my book, you can't beat Thermo-Tec products for quality; I've been using them since the early 1990s, starting with the exhaust and header wrap. The heat and sound sheeting here is substantial, easy to cut and bend, and easy to apply with the peel-off backing covering the adhesive. As with products like this, test fit dry before peeling off the backing; it's not too easy to re-position once glued down.

Product arrived on time and in good condition. This was the first time I used this type of product to reduce heat for exhaust pipes. I made sure I had all my surfaces clean the started cutting and applying. The install was an easy as presented and so far has drastically reduced the heat to the floor board and console in passenger compartment. And product seems to be sticking and staying where it was applied. I would recommend this product for exhaust heat reduction.

I bought this to absorb the fan and rattle noise for a lager hopper Pellet stove. The material was cut and placed strategically at points where I felt it would deaden the noise. I was happy to find it worked even better than expected! The previous noise level has been brought down by an guesstimated 5 or more decibels! A very noticeable difference in lees noise than before. Highly recommended!
