HikariGold Baby Floating Pellets for Koi and Pond Fish for Pets, 3.5-Ounce

The media could not be loaded. I've always been a fan of Hikari's koi food and have been using it for years. My group has some new additions and in general I hate flake food. The fact that these are in a pellet form means I can measure my feedings more closely and I can mix feed both my bigger goldfish and my younguns with different pellet sizes without anyone losing out. This also limits waste and makes water care much easier. The mini pellets are geared for high growth which may or may not be ideal for them but I can then transition them to Hikari's maintenance pellets that I feed to everyone else.

Lucky me, I have a koi pond. Those of you who do this "hobby" are aware it requires advanced degrees in fish, fish diseases, water quality and chemistry, beneficial bacteria, water plants and a variety of other needed skills, most of which I never particularly wanted to learn. Not to mention, ponds can be a money pit.As Mother Nature would have it, without any intervention from me, we get koi babies almost every year. They hide from their parents for their own survival and seem to get noticeable after they reach somewhere under an inch. This food is perfect for them once they are ready to rise for it and after several generations of fish who ate algae when they were small, I'm certain that feeding this latest small school this food has accelerated their growth.Additional good news is, the price is very reasonable, which is more than I can say for most of my pond "investments". I like the Hikari brand for many reasons--quality-good customer service-good value for price-- and have tried many of the formulas for my adult fish, including color enhancers, which do make a visible difference.I know this is a lot to say about goldfish food, but sometimes even small things deserve big praise.

My fish absolutely love this fish food. Keeps the tank nice and clean. Easy to feed and makes the fish grow pretty fast. Would recommend this to anyone for their tanks.

Baby Koi, to small to eat any regular size pellets, are gobbling these up. They seem to really enjoy it.

Should have bought bigger size

The fish liked it ,but it makes the water cloudy! I never had cloudy water before for last 3 years using flakes ,I could be over feeding but like I said never had a problem before till I used this stuff.
