I love coffee and tea.

Mine is decaf but still I enjoy the real coffee taste. Espresso, latte and cappuccino, they all taste superb.

Why are these decaf beans so hard to find? Even Starbucks doesn't seem to sell them anymore, so these must come from someone's private hoard. Full dark flavor and oily goodness. Just like the espresso you get in a European cafe. I've tried every decaf espresso bean on the market and they are mostly just light brown dry and taste like Postum or barley tea.

I drink Death Wish myself so a decaf would not interest me, but I also drink some of the Pike's Place regular in whole bean in the evening.I can tell you this. If you like coffee, get a hand grinder...right here on Amazon, and get a Keurig (and lots of hand tools to get and keep it running) and grind your own beans by hand. If your coffee is bitter, fresh ground beans will really fix that.I did taste this stuff and the fact that its decaf did not make any difference, Pikes Place is the best of the Starbucks's lot.Very Highly Recommended.

I'm not a huge fan of Starbucks coffee since they tend to roast their beans to the point where all you taste is a burnt flavor. That's fine if you use cream in your coffee, but I drink coffee black, and the burnt taste is off-putting.But I also can't resist a deal, and saw this on the Amazon Warehouse for a great price. It's pretty good! While it still is just a tad too roasted for my taste, the blend of beans works great. The taste is very deep and rich, but with very little (if any at all) acidity. Just a hint of a burnt undertone but not nearly as pronounced as in other Starbucks decafs.For my taste it's best brewed as a pour over, but I also got a very nice cup using an Aeropress.Unlike other Starbuck decafs I can enjoy this just as-is. I've also tried it blended with some medium roast Columbian decaf that was a bit too acidic for my taste, and it works very well.Definitely worth a try if you like a deep, full-flavored decaf. I don't think it's worth the regular price, but if you can get it at a discount (I paid about $11 for 2 pounds from the Amazon Warehouse) it's well worth it.

Great coffee

It took me a while to realize why I suddenly have problems sleeping from time to time. It was only in the last couple days that I realized it was this "decaf" coffee. To be fair to it it is lower caffeine I don't respond to it during the day like I do regular coffee. It doesn't make me as jump as regular coffee does. But recently I realized that id does contain some caffeine. This stuff is NOT "decaf" as I understand it. Typically when I have decaf it does not materially affect my ability to sleep, but this stuff clearly does. Me drinking it would also explain some general irritability I was displaying the recently. So, does it taste good? Yes. I liked it. But I have to stop drinking it because it has too much caffeine for me.edit: I now think this has to have some regular coffee mixed in. Or maybe the decaf process partially failed? This is NOT decaf coffee. That is obvious.

If you want a really good cup of espresso that has that bitter, coffee taste that espresso is supposed to have with about 50% of the caffeine jolt, then this Starbucks is it. Yeah! I know, I know! Who wants to drink coffee and NOT get the jolt? Well, me. Caffeine gives me terrific heart palpitations so I stay away from it as much as I can. In any case, we get the beans and grind them at home and then drip them in our coffee press. Best "chewy" coffee ever!!! As I said. All it needs is biscotti for dunking -- but then I haven't made biscotti for years and I don't buy those little tasteless biscotti shaped rocks you buy in the stores so I go without! Mangia!!!
