Looks great, although a little cheap and flimsy.
We really love the overall look, it matches our theme in our room perfectly. It looks very nice, and does not look cheap at all from the front. They left the back side totally unfinished, however, so if you are placing it under a window, your neighbors will see the cheap unfinished particle board from the outside. It would have been nice if they made the back black as well - even if they didn't put the finish veneer on it, they could have at least painted it black.Assembly was easy, took about half an hour with my kids helping, instructions are pretty clear and parts are labeled. It is made of cheap particle board, and really isn't sturdy at all. I was afraid a leg would snap off when moving the bed back to the wall after installation - we had to be very careful with it. Due to it being flimsy, it does wobble a great deal when you move around in bed. I screwed some additional wood to the back of the legs (where it is not visible) to make it a little stronger, and that helped. It is the perfect size for our king bed, and installed extremely easily with the metal bed foundation brackets we bought for the purpose. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HUE5ZUO/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).Overall, we are happy with it, and it was very low cost compared to other options - just be aware that it is cheap particle board, a little flimsy, and that the back isn't finished at all. You get what you pay for.

Remarkably good value
For the price and for what I was seeking, this headboard offers a really great value. It is low-key and attractive in my environment. The quality of the wood-product materials and connectors are very good and the pieces arrived without scars or blemishes. Another reviewer pointed out that "just in case," they provide a touch-marker which I did not need to use. Assembly was straight-forward and went smoothly; all the various parts were provided (with some spares) and the instructions were straight-forward. I had no issues connecting the headboard to my existing metal frame (all holes aligned properly) but I did need to purchase appropriate bolts, nuts, and washers at a local big-box hardware store. I had expected this as the headboard has a matching bed platform for which the appropriate screws were provided. The package arrived via UPS leaned up next to my front door in a timely fashion. Again I was prepared for something which is heavy and bit unwieldy for single person but if you're a large/strong enough person it can be (carefully!) handled alone; I got some assistance in moving it to my second floor. Assuming this is representative of their products, I would not hesitate to order another South Shore product (particularly this headboard) again.

Great for the price
It's particle board furniture, so I won't compare it to nice furniture. However, compared to all other companies making similar quality furniture, this one is my favorite because the pieces are generally well cut comoared ro competitors. They have excellent customer service and easy instructions. Some tips for this type of furniture:1. Always use a nice wood glue for all joining pieces.2. Have extra screws handy because these things never come with nice hardware and the s rews are generally easy to strip.3. Borrow a drill if you don't own one. You can drill some extra holes to bolt ot to your bed better. I bolted it to the south shore king sized platform bed frame.4. You tube is great if you haven't had any carpentry experience since high school shop (or ever). A lot of people post great instructional videos to help with assembling cheap furniture.

Even I managed to put it together...
Was rather nervous, buying a headboard on Amazon, but I am very pleased with it. Despite being in a long, flat, heavy package I manged to get it up three flights of stairs on my own, and assembly took me about two hours. It would have been faster if I had been more organized. Putting it together was the easy part - lining it up with the base was more problematic (two people would have an easier time of it). And then the holes did not line up but drilling new ones was simple (once I had located my drill, gone to the store to buy drill bits, charged it up, etc). So now you know why it took two hours. A handier person could do it in less than an hour! Highly recommended. Looks good. Smells a bit - that fiber-board smell but I guess that will go eventually!

didn't line up with king bed
Bought both this and the South Shore platform bed it's supposed to go with, but it didn't fit perfectly up against the bed. The bed didn't have screw holes to allow for quick and easy attachment. The head board only had two screws to attach it to the bed. Upon moving the bed back into position after attaching, the headboard fell over and pulled the screws right through the wood. So it's not actually attached to the bed now, but whatever. We just slid the bed, box springs, and mattress far up against the wall so it should be fine.

Acceptable with modifications
This is a flimsy, cheaply constructed piece of furniture. The particle-board panels are thinly laminated, in no way creating the impression of nice furniture. The styling is good, if it weren't so obviously cheap. But more importantly, it's flimsy. The two upright particle-board "legs" flex easily. Once the headboard was attached to my bed frame, it wobbled under the slightest pressure. If someone had tried to read in bed, the legs would definitely have broken.Since I'm handy with tools, I shortened the legs by 6", reinforced them with aluminum angle-iron screwed to the back of the leg every 2 inches, re-drilled the legs to attach to the lower cross-member and bed frame. Once this reconstructed structure was attached to the frame, it was solid. And frankly, it looked better at the shorter height. Since nobody will see the back, it will be fine for the rarely-used guest room. For the price, this was almost worth the money. Naturally, you don't find out all of its deficits until you've spent the hour to put it together.

Its ok.
This line of furniture is ok. For the price we paid its good. Sadly, it is difficult to assemble and we will not be able to take it with us when we move because it kind of falls apart. Nice looking and sturdy once assembled, just not designed to be easily disassembled without damaging the MDF.

Just assembled this headboard. For the most part it's pretty decent. It's inexpensive so don't expect a $500 finished look to it.The assembly instructions are awesome! Easy to follow pictures. I especially liked the one that told you not to try to assemble it solo and the one that tells you to assemble it on a rug or some such, not on the floor. They are pictures with a X through them or a thumbs up by the right way.As long as you are patient and have 2 people the assembly job is easy. Do not rush as it is easy to damage it. If you do everything right there will be no problems at all. However, until it is assembled it is fragile. If you plan to move, plan to take it in its assembled state. The only thing you need to assemble it is a screwdriver. It shows the need for more tools, but I didn't need any. Used the hammer to final tap the screw covers since I brought the silly thing out.Once installed it looks just like its picture.I bought the white one.

Great product for the price
Arrived in perfect condition, easy to assemble, looks great! I didn't find it flimsy like other reviewers, although I attached it to the wall and not to a bed frame as I don't have one.

It is quality for pressboard material. Note you will need your own assembly hardware to attach.
I had to purchase my own set of screws to attach to my bedframe but it attached perfectly to a standard king size metal bed frame. Got what we paid for with this one!
