Calcet Lemon 500mg Calcium Citrate Creamy Bites

I purchased this product prior to my sleeve gastrectomy so that I could try it out.Taste: It's surprisingly tasty - not chalky, doesn't coat my tongue with blah, no medicinal aftertaste. It definitely tastes like creamy lemon, so it's what I expected.Texture: The outer coating is similar to the wax-like frosting of a petit four, and the inside has the consistency of over-aerated (whipped?) lemon taffy. It's not at all dense or chewy, but you will definitely have to brush afterwards because it's very sticky. Also take your time letting it dissolve in your mouth to make sure it doesn't get stuck on the way down.Size/Packaging: I've never tried any calcium chew before, but these seemed rather large - especially if I'm supposed to have 3 per day! I do like that they are individually wrapped; that's very convenient.In all, I really like them so I subscribed. I left off a star because I'm not sure if these will be too filling for the sleeve. I'll try to remember to come back and let you know!

I won't belabor how awesome these little bites of lemony, cakey, calcium heaven are - they taste outstanding!The downsides:high calorie (for what they are...really folks, they're chewy calcium, not candy)If you are diabetic...BEWARE, these may spike your fingersticks unreasonably high beyond the stated sugars/carbohydrates. It took me three doses to realize that those left-field >250mg/dl readings were due to a single piece of Creamy Bite. Proceed with caution, your mileage may vary.For bariatric post-ops, these may be a little piece of happiness in a land filled with otherwise unpalatable calcium supplements. There are better options out there, with less calories and better nutrition, for comparable taste. Keep looking, friend.

Update: I promised to make updates if I found tastier chewy calcium citrate supplements, and I did. Bariatric Advantage has wonderful lemon, caramel, raspberry, and chocolate flavors. They have a chewey consistency (like caramel) and are sugar-free. In contrast, I'm reducing these Calcet Creamy Bites to 2 stars--they're okay but have a slight playdough aftertaste and are 40 calories each (120 calories for the day if you have to take 3 per day for gastric bypass aftercare). Each comes in its own odd little plastic yellow tub that is air-sealed and hard to open. But ANY chews are better than horse pills. Note: if you've had gastric bypass, you need calcium CITRATE, which is harder to find in tasty form than calcium carbonate. If you can get away with calcium CARBONATE, then there are wonderful, decadent candy-like supplements such as ChocoRite Calcium Bites in Chocolate Covered Caramel. Those are sugar-free and crazy good. Anyway, hope this helps.

The best tasting and easiest way to get your calcium and fight osteoporosis. My doctor recommended them and I've very satisfied with this product.

I had gastric bypass surgery about three and a half years ago. These were recommended at the time of the surgery and I've continued to use them. The lemon is my favorite. It's like having a little dessert after dinner. They have 500mg of calcium citrate and 400iu of vitamin D3.

These "chews" are the size of your palm! They are HUGE. I was looking for something the size of a starburst- that is NOT these. I could barely choke one down, and the taste is just awful. These are a mess! I can't believe they have such good reviews. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time purchasing these nasty things! ZERO stars!

I am always on the lookout for vitamin/mineral supplements that don't taste vile. Unfortunately, after a few days the taste of these just wore thin on me and I was starting to gag on them. I guess they are no worse and no better than most calcium supplments. Maybe if you love lemon they would be Ok for you. Not my fave.

These are the best tasting calcium chews I've ever had. They taste just like a lemon bar! I wish they were slightly lower calorie per bite (40 cal) but it's worth it to not have to eat a calcium chew that's bland.
