Book Review - Author Unpublished
Much like the first book in the series, Broken Prince by Erin Watt left me feeling conflicted. Again, the technical aspects of the book were pretty spot-on. I didn’t run into a lot of grammatical errors, typos, or formatting issues. The narrative was clean and easy to read, and it was simple to get sucked into the story because of it—but the plotline and the characters were painful to experience. The romance between Ella and Reed felt so wrong because of the way they’d treated each other throughout the first book. Their relationship was unbelievably unhealthy. On some levels, this book was possibly worse than the first. Not a lot happened other than pure fluff drama that’s so ridiculously overblown that I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. The content was far from being YA appropriate, and the characters left me disgusted… and yet I kept reading. I guess I love drama.I want to like this series because I’m being entertained, but the entertainment value is like watching a reality show about the Trumps: it’s gross and cringy, and completely unrelatable—but you watch it anyway just to see what’ll happen. Overall, I’m not impressed with this series thus far, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to a teen, but if you enjoy this kind of social abuse, drugs, sex, and scandal, you might find this entertaining.

Ends on two major cliffhangers. Looking forward to continuing the series and reading Book #3 Twisted Palace.
You know how some series take a while for you to get around and read and you sit there and wonder why it took you this long? For me, this is The Royals by Erin Watt. I have had the series since it's original release dates and OMG it is freaking amazing. It's a series I recommend everyone to read, it is so addictive, and you can't put it down. It's a series that you will want to read from cover to end in one sitting. At the end of Book #1, we read as Ella ran away after seeing Brooke coming out of Reed's room half-naked. In Broken Prince, the first half is about the Royal boys trying to find Ella and eventually having to tell Callum who hires a PI. Then the discovery that Brooke is pregnant, whose baby is it? Reed's, Callum's or someone else? In Broken Prince, we also see chaos happening at the high school as it seems the Royals command is starting to crumble and a revolution is an uprising. Can the Royals care enough to restore order to the school? If you are a fan of cliffhangers, then Broken Prince has not one but two MAJOR cliffhangers that leave you going what and gasping, NOOOOO and OMG how can this be and what happens next to Ella, etc ?I am now looking forward to continuing the series and reading Book #3 Twisted Palace.

I am not even gonna deny how much I loved it.
Yesssss! Broken Prince was so incredible good, it's the dirty little book soap opera that you never knew you needed. It's wild, sexy, shocking... it's ya and it is a contemporary book that even non-contemporary readers will love.Broken Prince is the second book in the Royals series and this book didn't hit the second book slump, this book was so amazingly good. This time the story is told from dual perspectives, readers get to hear from both Ella and Reed. The book starts off with the last scenes of Paper Princess but told from Reed's pov and it was amazing. Reed feels guilt as-hell about what Ella saw and he wants to explain but Ella is gone. During Ella's absence the Royals don't do so well and Reed is the most broken of them all. Ella left the Royals completely brokenhearted and wants nothing to do with Reed. Eventually she returns, things don't look good and it's Reed's chance to win her back.OMG! Broken Prince was so amazingly good, you have no idea. Reed is a totally mess and so are the rest of the Royals and I started to see how important Ella had become to their broken home. I will admit that I hated Reed in a good two-thirds of Paper Princess but by the end I liked him a little bit, now after Broken Prince, dude has me. Reed has transformed into such an amazing character, he did sort of a one-eighty. Reed maybe broken and a lot more was revealed about his past but he has grown and I got to see more of his personality in this story and it makes me feel for him. Reed is on his way to becoming a better person, some one Ella deserves.Ella was already a strong character but her strength grows even more and she chooses to count on some of the people around her when she actually needs the help. I love the fact that the privilege around her isn't changing her but she is changing them. I loved seeing how she had doubts about what she was doing with Reed that it wasn't just one-sided, she missed Reed but she also hated him and she let herself feel all of it. Ella became even more fierce in this book and I have a feeling she isn't done evolving yet.I really wished that I could get more of the twins, Sawyer and Sebastian, I need more of an idea of who they are. I feel that all the boys are important to the story and while we got a lot more of Gideon's past and an explanation of him and I see more into Easton's life but I need more and I hope they get a little more attention in the rest of the series. As of this book, I am totally addicted to the Royals series. Broken Prince was so much more than I thought it would be. The fact that Reed messed-up and was truly trying to fix his mistake. He was taking actual effort in showing that he cared about Ella and Ella was so emotional and it was so drama. However that wasn't even the start of it, the students of Astor Prep went completely savage, the crap that they did is beyond shocking. I couldn't believe what they got a way with, I know that you're thinking Gossip Girl but you should be thinking Lord of the Flies. Dude, I can't even. Still that's not all of it, more secrets come to light, a Royal is in danger and a few super-shocking plot twist leaves Broken Prince on an impossible cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the next book, I have no idea how it's gonna go because the authors can't be taking the story in the direction I think they are.

Just as addictive as the first book!
I have been desperate for this book ever since the dramatic cliffhanger ending of Paper Princess, but it was a big mistake to stay up late to finish it though, it left me restless all night with hardly any sleep - there were far too many questions going round my head! This book starts off right where Paper Princess ended, and we get to read those events from Reed's perspective. We get to see exactly why Brooke was in his bedroom, why Reed was stunned into silence when Ella found them together, and why he didn't come after her."My instincts had screamed at me that she was trouble. My instincts were wrong. She wasn’t trouble. I was. Still am. Reed, the destroyer. It’d be a cool nickname if it wasn’t my life and hers that I’m taking down."What happens next? Well the Royals, who were so vehemently against Ella when she first arrived, actually start to fall apart after her departure. She has had such an impact on the family in her short time in the Royal household , and they are desperate to find her and bring her back. I really felt for Easton, he had formed such an attachment to Ella, and he was gutted when she went.“You should be strung up by your nuts and hung out to dry.” He spits at my feet. “If you don’t find Ella and bring her back, I’ll be first in line to see it done.”There's not a lot I can say without giving away spoilers, and this book is best experienced going in blind. There is so much going on in this story, there are revelations, shocks, and jaw dropping, heart stopping moments! One thing is for certain, once you start reading, you won't want to stop!I love how the story is woven so skillfully together, there are answers to questions raised in Paper Princess, and then there are more revelations too. Then, just when you think you have something figured out - BAM! All of a sudden the rug is pulled out from under you - AGAIN! An explosive beginning, a story packed with drama, highs and lows, and another mind blowing ending. O.M.G. that ending. SWEET JESUS indeed!I'm going on holiday in October, but I think I'm more excited for Twisted Palace than my 2 weeks in Kos! I can only hope my hotel has a damn good WiFi connection so that I can download Twisted Palace on release day, as it doesn't come out until after I leave for Greece!

Broken Prince
Daring to care has broken both Reed and Ella, but that is only the start of their troubles. Their high-society school recognises the slip of the Royal family's control, and everything devolves into chaos. Even at home, old enemies return to plague the Royals.Just give me a minute...Bloody hell, Watt knows how to write a cliff-hanger. I thought the end of Book 1 was pretty effed up, but this one was just...give me a minute...Yes, I enjoyed this, very much so.It starts with Reed, dealing with the aftermath of his "betrayal" of Ella. Of trying to bring her back, when she runs away. And dealing with the blackmailing Brooke, who doesn't care which Royal she gets her gold-digging claws in.Then it brings in Ella, when it's clear she's going to stop running. I was a little disappointed that her time away from the Royals was glossed over - after all, this is the girl who worked at strip clubs with her dead mother's ID to survive. But I as happy to see her back.I was even happier that she didn't immediately jump onto Reed and forgive his lying arse.I felt that the story was a little bit sweeter than the first book, because Ella knows about the stuff going on in the Royals lives; Reed is working hard to be a good guy for her (but not above beating somebody); and Valerie provides something invaluable - Ella's first real friend, and someone who missed her when she ran. That being said, it still hits hard.Aster Park is sensing weakness from the usually unbreakable Royal brothers, and the high-society teens are pushing the boundaries. Everything breaks down into absolute chaos, and needs a very strong hand to slap it back into place.I might have mentioned this in my review of the first book, but Ella is awesome. There's other drama around Brooke regaining entry into the Royal family, but I won't mention any of that, because it might spoil. And then there was that ending...Next book, please.

Devoured this book its fab!!!
Devoured this book its fab!!!Ok this is book 2 in this crazy series set around the rich Royal family and continues on exactly where book 1 Paper Princess ends... which made it so easy just to fall straight into to find out some answers from the cliffhanger book 1 left us with!Focusing mainly on Reed Royal and Ella Harper again ...will we find out what happens when Ella returns to the palace and will she be able to forgive Reed?Told in POV of both main characters but also giving us great insight into the other brothers Easton Sawyer Sebastian and Gideon... with dad Callum thrown in too.Although this book helps settle our hearts and heads we are left yet again with a jaw dropping ending and desp wanting to jump into book 3 instantly.Hottiness... craziness.. great family.. fun.. laughter and 5 sexy guys all rolled into one great book.Fantastic writing that just makes you not want to put this down.

"These Royals will ruin you"Well I'm beyond ruined, what have I just read and been witness to. My heart is beating so rapidly and I'm just utterly shocked and beyond dying. I've literally thousands of different thoughts running through my mind. This was just beyond comprehension of anything I've read in ages, the magnificent writing from the duo has had me captivated the last two days and these Royals have got me good and proper. This book was more focused on our Broken Prince Reed, and I can't help fall more in love with him in this book and Ella is just everything this Royal needs. I wasn't sure how I'd be able to forgive him, but he more than redeemed himself.Honestly this book has me sweating with anticipation for Twisted Palace and I'm already twisted in the Royally screwed up palace.

Sometimes being where you are meant to be is hard.
Dragged back to the Royal Palace after her escape Ella is not looking forward to being in the same breathing space as Reed. He shattered her fragile heart and she won't give him the chance to do not again. But things have taken a serious down turn in her absence. The family is falling apart. There are lines drawn and silence has replaced the jovial brotherly bond. To add insult to injury the shebwitch from shell is back and demanding happy families. Just as it seems order may be being restored aft we r a very public showdown a surprise knock at the door leads to a fabulous cliffy.
