It has consistently been one of my favorite small rounds—travel or not
I have a size 4—1503 Kolinsky (branded by Daniel Smith) that is probably 15+ years old which is still going strong. It has been a part of my travel sketch/watercolor kit for years. It has consistently been one of my favorite small rounds—travel or not.Within the past year I added a size 6 and 8 series 1503 and size 10 series 1573 da Vinci travel brush to my growing watercolor kit. I could not justify around $100 on the sable 1503 size 10 at that time and the Cosmotop synthetic while quite nice, still left a hole for a sable. So when I stumbled over this set of three and saw the amazing price I just had to order them. Right now on Amazon the three brushes if purchased alone would cost about $170…almost $90 more than this set. This is an amazing deal, but better yet it is an amazing deal on three very usefully sized, well made, high quality, sable brushes. The price of the set was less than purchasing the size 10 alone...that is what pushed me over the edge.I have found these to feel better in hand than metal cased travel brushes which for me feel unbalanced and slick. These travel particularly well. After use they can be easily tossed in my bag or pocket with no concern. Once home I clean them well with Master’s soap, leaving soap in the hair and then allowed to dry overnight before casing them. The soap keeps the hairs pointed so casing is easy with no damage. If left to dry without soap the hair expands out and are difficult to case. They are best not left to slowly dry in the case though as the ventilation hole is small and the hair does not dry fast enough to prevent mildew.I highly recommend these travel brushes as great tools. They point well, hold plenty of water, can be shaken near dry to pick up color. The size 4 and 6 are easy to forget they were designed for travel, (the 10 is pretty fat compared to a standard brush but still handles nicely). I use mine almost as much as I do my standard full-sized brushes. And with the bargain price you cannot “afford” to pass them up.BTW, the case is nice too!Five stars for both quality and price.

Great quality brushes which pack into a very small case, and the brushes are well protected
I am an artist and normally when I travel I take oil paints and canvases, but decided for a 5 week trip to France to sketch with watercolors. I purchased this set, along with a basic Winsor & Newton watercolor set. The brushes were perfect. I carried them to the field to sketch and paint, and they pack into such a nice small space and are the brushes were protected perfectly so that they stayed in excellent shape for all my excursions. You simply unscrew the end/cap and pull out the brush and screw it back in. Then when you are finished you turn it around so the brush is inside the tube/handle. The tube/handles are a very comfortable size for gripping while paintings, and the quality of the sable bristles holds its shape well, and holds a nice amount of paint and water as you apply each stroke on paper. These brushes are well worth the investment and are so packable and lightweight, that it makes it easy to carry them where ever you go.

Great bargain on really nice travel brushes
This set is a great bargain on really nice travel brushes. The business end of the brushes is beautiful - they point up beautifully and carry a lot of paint. They compare very well against my Winsor & Newton Series 7 studio brushes. Overall, the points are a little smaller than a comparable size in the W&N brushes - this size 10 is roughly the same as my W&N size 9, the DV size 6 is about the same as my WN 5, and the DV 4 is similar to my WN 2 - but the tips are similar in length, where the lesser W&N Kolinsky sable brushes (Artist's Water Colour Sable line) have tips that are both shorter and smaller than the Series 7 (similar in girth, but shorter, compared to these brushes). The handle/protective cover is a little clunky, but doesn't feel terribly uncomfortable in use. The vent holes seem barely adequate - I don't think I'd take the chance of storing my brushes wet. The sizes in the set are a very useful selection and the case complements the brushes nicely. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend the set for anyone looking for a quality set of travel brushes.

Cost doesn’t always equal quality
I really like the DaVinci Cosmotop Watercolor Brushes (non-travel) so when I was ready to upgrade my travel brushes from the first one I purchased (Fuumi brand) I bit the bullet and opened my wallet and bought these. Reputable brand great synthetic bristles on the non-travel. Didn’t translate to the these travel brushes. Disappointing.

Highly Recommended Travel Set!!
This is my favorite travel set!! The quality is excellent and worth every penny! The brushes hold a ton of water and have plenty of snap. There is a lot of Sable in these brushes, they are fat. The extension handles are fatter than your average brush, but are not heavy or too bulky. I highly recommend this set. I added some photos to show the size of the brushes in comparison to some of my short handle brushes. The pictures also show a comparison of how full the brush head is compared to my other kolinsky brushes. I hope the pictures can help get a perspective of the size and shape of these wonderful travel brushes.

Great buy!
This is my first real upgrade from offbrand travel brushes and these brushes are a world apart. They hold so much water and really hold their shape well so far. I mostly use the 10 brush but the 4 and 6 are indispensable for really fine work. I like the fact that the base of the brush when unscrewed is so short; you NEED to screw the cap on to really use the brush properly. That simple design decision will avoid countless lost caps as can be the problem with other brushes.

generally positive review with caveat
These brushes were an opportunity for me to try kolinsky sable brushes in three sizes. I feel positively about them with some caveats. It is true as some reviewers remarked that they do not maintain their point when dry and so makes it difficult to fit back into their enclosure. It is also true that there were one or two stray hairs on one or two of the brushes. Yet in general they work wonderfully with watercolor and do maintain a point when wet and so I would recommend these brushes to anyone who wants to try kolinsky sable at a good price for a travel set of brushes

CALIDAD MEDIOCRE
NO ES LO QUE ESPERABA POR ESTE PRECIO, LOS PELOS SE SEPARAN EN CUANTO PIERDEN ALGO DE HUMEDAD EN EL TAMAÑO 10, EN LOS PEQUEÑOS AUN PEOR.

Perfect
Very nice brushes, compact and well made. Just perfect for my needs. Case Faux leather, not real leather, but good for the purpose. Would recommend, ideal for travel.
