I am a HAM and all of my radios are Icom! So when I needed a Marine VHF there was not guessing, its an ICOM!

Pros: From my personal experience ICOM products are very reliable, professionally designed and made from high quality materials, good components and schematic. Cons: In this specific model just one: no dedicated volume knob. IMHO is OK to simplify, combine and optimize the user interface (even make it cheaper for production) but any Radio (or other audio related device) volume control should always have is own separate knob with visible position.

This radio is not at all intuitive like the older ICOMS! No dedicated buttons for 9/16 or weather. It works as intended, but not the way I'd like it to.

replaced a 15 year old radio of the same make and model, works great. just wish they wouldnt go away from knobs and dials. pushing buttons is not as intuitive. oh well still a great radio.

I only buy Icom marine radios - have used five in the last few years. They never disappoint.
