Good for minor jobs, don't put over drywall compound
I usually use "mud" to do drywall work and generally prefer the capabilities of it to Spackle, but occasionally I need to move to painting quicker than 12-24 hours, and that's where this helps.Aside from the quick working time, the feature I like most about crackshot is that it doesn't shrink when filling most gaps, as mud tends to. However, I don't find the other two statements associated with this product to be true (it will flash paint unless you prime first, and it is not easy to sand, at least compared to joint compound. And there lies a problem: if you do a couple of coats of standard compound to patch, then fill a missed spot with this, you will have a terrifically hard time sanding the result smooth, as the surrounding joint compound will sand far easier than this will. I no longer use this for that purpose as a result. That aside, it does still have its place in my toolkit.

Spackling Paste is Great! The Bottle Split Open 1st Use.
The paste is wonderful. We used it to fill holes left behind by an anchor failing to do its job. The paste is easy enough to use, slap some in the hole and use an old credit card to smooth it out, let it dry and about an hour later you have a nice hard, filled hole that can easily be sanded if needed. We were able to put a new anchor in only an hour after use. If it was so easy to use, and worked so well why the loss of two stars? The very first time we attempted to use it the back of the bottle split right open rendering it a one time use bottle which was incredibly annoying because we otherwise would have been able to fill many holes with it.***Update: You can buy a small tub of this paste for cheaper as an add on item which ends up being a better deal since the tube burst after the first use so its reusability isn't any better than the tub anyway. http://www.amazon.com/12374-Spackling-Interior-Exterior-2-Pint/dp/B000ZZYQ6E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1418514927&sr=8-2&keywords=spackle

More than you need, but works as expected.
It does the trick but I really wish it came in a smaller size. This relatively large tube is a bit overkill for your average small job of filling in nail holes or minor (tiny) cracks in plaster or drywall. The paste is white, with a mild grit. It dries pretty quickly and is ready to sand down in about 15 minutes. The tube could use a smaller opening for precision work, and you may struggle to keep the contents fresh after a few uses. The tiny cap didn't do the best job of keeping air out of the tube, so after a month, I ended up throwing about half of it away. Bottom Line: it's more than you need but it works as expected.

Does the job, but...
This stuff does the job. But it isn't nearly as easy to use as I expected it would be. Honestly, a tub of spackle and a fingertip are more efficient and required less muscle.... I ended up choose the latter because of how much quicker and easier I could fill all the nail holes in our old house. Oh well. Live and learn!

Worked great on bathroom tiles
I used this to fill a bunch of gaps in my grout in two bathrooms. I just moved into a new house and it looks like the bathrooms havent been regrouted in many years, but this stuff applied right over the old stuff and filled in the holes well. I have been using the showers for 3 months so far and there is no discoloration or new gaps. I guess time will tell if it lasts but for me, its definitely doing the job. There are some pretty potent solvents in here though so leave the windo open and have a fan on, give yourself regular breaks lest you get a bit loopy and get a dry throat.

Didn't really do the job i wanted, but i'm pretty sure it was my fault
Used this stuff to plug up a screw hole, I just kinda tried to fill it up with this stuff but it seems like it didnt really go that far into the screw hole.. left me with a non-functional drywall that can't hold a screw, but i'm pretty sure that it was due to my lack of experience.

Squeeze hard and it works!
I used this to patch up some screw holes when moving out of an apartment and it worked well. You have to give it a solid squeeze to make it flow, but it will. I don't know how strong it becomes in terms of driving nails into it once it is dry, but just for patching some holes to paint over, it is a good product.

Works as intended.
Handy small tube. Perfect size to fill in holes left by screws, nails and bolts in wall. It dries in a few hours and sands smooth. I have used in several rooms and painted over and you are not able to tell where the patches are.
