This has worked perfectly for all the drives I’ve connected to it. Not going to be lightning fast, but good enough to be able to read and write disks (spinning and SSD). Like the adjustable power plug on the PATA interface, so can be adjusted to fit any old disk. Laptop disks are no problem either, SATA or IDE. The blue LED is too bright and lights up the room at night, I wish they would use red LEDs like way back. Have just stuck a bit of Duct tape over the LED.

Worked well with the hard rives that I had not damaged. Easy to use. I would reccomend tis item.

Plenty of old, different format drives knocking around, this was able to read them all, simple plug and play. Good gadget

This is a great device for anyone who wants to either use an IDE drive with a PC that is SATA only, or who wants to add another SATA drive to a PC that is already using all available SATA cables, or who wants to sort through a variety of older drives that he/she has lying about. It's fast, convenient and works well. I do, however, have two criticisms; 1) For some reason the manufacturers removed the card reader that was present in older models (the ability to read SD cards and Micro SD cards would have been nice to have here), and# 2) There are no anti-dust flaps on the device, so over time dust will get into connectors if the device is left without a drive in either slot. Other than that, it's a good and convenient solution for anyone who needs it. Would Recommend.

Very simple unit and works as it should, all my drives work in it and it was recognised in my new laptop without any issues at all. The only thing I found was the Sata connection was a tad stiff when pushing down my SSD drive but once I got it in it worked evertime and also it’s a bit awkward to first line up the power supply connection for the ide drive but It’s a nice little unit that gives you connectivity for modern and old ide drives

I bought it to try and read mostly IDE drives. However, it was impossible to get them installed in this device, so have had to chuck the drives away. I did manage to get some 3,5 inch Sata drives to be read by this device.

I am not the greatest technically experienced person but our pc had finally failed and I wanted to be able to access the data and (although most was backed up) I bought this hard drive docking station in the hope that I could remove the hard drive and use this for the task. I was hopeful that it would be an easy task and thankfully it proved to be. The hard drive dock was well packaged and very easy to install - just plug in and switch on. Inserting the hard drive did need some light pressure to engage the drive into the docking station - probably to be expected but as I said if you are not technical you may be concerned about putting any pressure on, don’t be it was really easy. If, like my husband, you expect instant access don’t ........ Just be patient once you have the hard drive in place, depending on the individual hard drive rate, it may take some minutes before the data is available, but it is great. Our hard drive is 7200rpm, 1TB. I am delighted with how easy it was to use and how successful the process was. If you have the space on your desk you could use this with a new external hard drive as your backup. It has proved to be value for money.

Works perfectly for a 3.5" IDE HDD and any SATA SSDs I've tried. I did try one 2.5" IDE which didn't work, however it is over 20 years old so the problem is likely with the disk. It has a movable power socket for 3.5" HDDs to cater for different sizes. One small problem is that the 2.5" socket is a bit fiddly (and the 3 5" one too a lesser extent) - e.g. you can't see it while plugging in the disk, and it's a tight angle, which gives the potential for damage while connecting.

Fait très bien le job et simple à utiliser. Pour ceux qui critiques la partie IDE, en dessous du bloc vous avez une glissière prévue justement pour ajuster le placement de chaque disque car la prise d'alim n'y est pas toujours au même endroit au millimètre près selon le modèle et le constructeur. L'astuce pour moi a tout simplement été de bien suivre en parallèle la plaque noire vertical en plastique de le station, ce qui permet en centrage direct et facile du disque. Pour que ce que intéresse, reconnait les format FAT16 (DOS, Windows 95 etc.), il faut juste mettre le jumper du disque en Master. Le plus vieux disque que j'ai branché est un Quantum 420Mo de 1993, reconnu et accessible lecture/écriture sans souci.

Me encanta este producto. Tenía algunos discos duros sueltos y no tenía como leerlo. Con esta base los lee sin ningún problema. Es muy práctico y tiene muy buena calidad. Lo recomiendo sin duda alguna.
