Timekeeper (Timeless Series)

Finally, from the phenomenal Timeless to a magnificent Timekeeper 👌two super extraordinary books that will remain in my heart for as long as Time Travel becomes a reality!!! Well, let’s hope so!!! Maybe few years from now when all the stars starts to align amidst the vast universe!!!Actually like Timeless, I also bought a hard copy of Timekeeper (both copies are inside boxes when we moved to a new house 3 yrs ago) but know what?In welcoming the beauty of spring, while reminiscing Alexandra Monir’s two books it made me decide into putting them in my kindle in order to read anytime I feel like re-visiting my beloved couple Michele and Philip💏 oh, how I love the magnificence of their love story!!! Not only truly phenomenal, magical, awe inspiring per se, but everything wonderful has been supernaturally grouped together combining into a truly fantastic and wholesome reading pleasure!!!It’s been a roller coaster ride for both Michele Windsor and Philip Walker, but then, Fate and Destiny played a huge part leading them triumphant towards their beautiful sunset, defeating an evil ancestor throwing her down below in hades where she belonged!!! Let her rot into dust!!!Reuniting with her beloved father Irving was unbelievably the highlight in Michele’s young life! Me shedding tears while reading about their their heartwarming meeting brought me so much joy and thanksgiving!A father’s love saved her from the clutches of Rebecca’s madness... as did everyone else, with her beloved Philip and grandparents who also joined forces annihilating the devil who tried killing her.Gaining the love and admiration from Ida Pearl, president of the Society of Timekeepers, Michele, for being a crossed child born between two parents hundred years apart, was promised a gift of remaining at the her present tine line, and therefore, giving her and Philip into leading a normal life they had been longing for!! With her exceptional power to travel without the golden key, she could visit her Dad anytime she wants! Missing her mom has made Michele doubly in need of her dad!Like a beautiful love story that often comes to its conclusion, surely it’s quite clear that their lives goes on as expected, when Philip lovingly said “I believe this signet ring belongs to you!” Oh la la... how thrilling is that? A truly exceptional proposal, what else? Michele could only quiver with tears while nodding her head in acceptance!!! Both in tears, vowing their eternal love, and even if both are still in high school, Philip will continue composing his music, with Michele writing the lyrics! This review is really for both  Timeless , the first book in this series, and  Timekeeper , which seamlessly takes off where Timeless ended.Both books excellently tell the story of Michele Windsor and her struggle to come to terms with the sudden, untimely death of her single mother, and her upheaval from her life in California to living with her old-money grandparents in a New York mansion on Fifth Avenue maintained, and left over, essentially, from The Gilded Age of the late 1800s to the early 1900s.I should state outright I am not, and haven't been for decades, normally a reader of young adult fiction. I only recently have regained an interest in it.But these books are FAR more than young adult, or fantasy, or romance, or whatever genre or category marketers wish to place them in. In fact, they fall, for my tastes, closer to a historic mystery than any other category.The writing is captivating; the descriptions, transporting; the emotions, as mixed and vibrant and authentic as a teen-ager's.History is, after all, anything and everything that happened before our existence, or known existence, on the planet. I found humorous descriptions of the 1990s, as distant to a modern teenager as was, for me, the 1930s, 40s and 50s. But the books travel farther back, to a time when the entire country was young, barely even a century old.And the history in Timekeeper, and Timeless before it, is flawless. As is the scientific theory, right down to time traveling having an effect like a centrifuge or a gravitational pull. Albert Einstein, in fact, theorized that gravity could warp time--and the author of these two remarkable books, Alexandra Monir, is as aware of it as if she'd experienced it when writing it.Just as the movie, "Titanic," interested young people in both the romance, and cross-cultural and economic hardships and differences of the same era, so Ms. Monir manages to incorporate similar accurate differences and difficulties, even between families, between friends, loves, and centuries.Michele Windsor doesn't just sit around in her room playing with her cellphone on Facebook, or dressed like Mary Todd Lincoln or Mrs. Haversham all in black or some other form of mourning. She winds up traveling through time, and learns of the one really hard and fast rule of even a theory of time travel: you cannot really change the past, as it has happened. You can only truly affect the future, which remains yet-to-be.Even the romantic and emotional descriptions of Michele making contact--seeing, touching, lips brushing, hair kissing--with a boy from another century she fell in love with, and who fell in love with her, despite realistically one of the greatest age differences in romances ever written, ring plausible.In other words, I loved reading both books. I felt let down after finishing Timekeeper, not really because of anything the writer did, but because to read Michele's story is to essentially witness it, as if you, the reader, has a Gift of Sight, and actually can see and conceive of all the things and places and events and feelings described as happening, really happening, before your eyes. The let down came with realizing the story seems to have ended with Timekeeper.

******Mild spoilers*******Having read Timeless when it was first released, I've waited a long time for the sequel. Overall I was pleased, but I thought it lacked some of the magic of the first book. Here's how I break it down.The good:We learn a lot more about time travel and the mechanics of it.We learn about Michele's parents, and the author did a great job of telling their story.I love that there's an actual villain in this book, and I found her backstory very believable. I was almost sympathetic.The bad:The biggest disappointment for me was Michele and Philip's relationship, which I loved in the first book. Not that it was bad, it just wasn't particularly compelling either. It lacked the complexities of Timeless.(SPOILER: Also, I just couldn't buy the whole reincarnation thing. I get that it's a fantasy, but it has nothing to do with time travel. To me it seemed like the author was going with the easiest explanation.)Overall I enjoyed Timekeeper very much. Though I thought Timeless was better, I will definitely read anything Alexandra Monir writes.

Love this book and the one before it. But I do wish there had been another book to this set. Would have liked to have a little more story with these characters.

I have only read one other book that talked about time travel. This book does a really good job describing how it would feel to get pulled out of one era and into another. It did not take me long to read this book. I enjoyed it immensely, and I will probably revisit it one day.

This book has been delayed so much, I thought I was never going to get to find out what exactly happened at the end of  Timeless . So I was delighted when a release date seemed to be confirmed, and even more delighted when it was dispatched and finally in my hands.Timeless was one of my favourite books of 2012, and I had to go back and re-read it in preparation for this coming out. They're both very quick and easy books to read, and I sink into the story each time, without any issues. This sequel was no different, and now I'm eager for the story to continue. Alexandra has so much potential, and I really want to see how Michele and Philip's story progresses. Especially with the little snippet of a story at the end.I wouldn't have said that this sequel was disappointing. Yes, fans of the original have had to wait two years, but I've waited much longer for a series, and not been disappointed. I can totally see this working as a movie, or even a TV show.I loved the little things that Alexandra threw out, just to make the book ever so slightly different to the book. I loved the addition of Rebecca and also the little excerpts of The Handbook of the Time Society. I also loved the introduction of the journal.As other reviewers have mentioned, at times, the book does seem a little bit jumbled, but at the same time, I could follow it quite easily. The character of Caissie for me was a little hit and miss - I can see why her storyline twist was done, but at the same time, if that had not been done, she would have ended up by being a throw away, forgettable character.I'm hoping that Alexandra does bring out another in this series, or even a spin off. Or even a whole series of books! Her latest (depending when you read this) book,  Suspicion  is out in December, but seems quite expensive for the time being. However, it seems completely unrelated to Michele's story, which is unfortunate. I shall no doubt get it at some point though.However, the book that is advertised on the back cover, "Secrets of The Time Society", does not seem to exist on Kindle, which is quite disappointing. I hope it either gets released soon, or comes out in paperback.I definitely cannot wait for another book by Alexandra Monir, and hopefully it will be a continuation of the story that I fell in love with during Timeless. (I will wait for Suspicion to come down in price.) TimelessSuspicion

After reading and loving the first novel in this series I was eager to read Timekeeper, and find out how the love story of Michele and Philip would continue. Timeless left off on a cliffhanger, so I couldn’t wait to read the second novel!The whole idea about someone who can time travel actually just crazy, and even crazier when they end up to falling in love with the person from the another century. I wonder how Philip and Michele can be together, but Philip promised Michele that he will find the way backAnd he did…He came to Michele’s time, however he doesn’t have any memories with her and of course it makes Michele sad. But it’s not the main problem because there’s somebody who after Michele and wants her dead. That person comes from her father’s era and she was a time traveler too, then she knew the whole fact about his father who also a time traveler and about the The Time Society. The Time Society is an organization for person who can time travel and they called Timekeeper.I fell in love with Michele and Philip love’s story. It’s hard to falling in love with person that doesn’t exist in our time. I wonder if time travel is really exist, i want to travel through the past and the future too.Definitely a MUST READ!!
