Compatibility issue is possible
I bought this for my old Dell desktop as a secondary data drive. When I installed it, the computer would not boot up. I tested it in a newer computer and it worked just fine. Since this HD was initially sold as a HP server drive, my old Dell didn't like it. I did keep it though and bought an external enclosure for it and it works fine as an external hard drive. It's still a great price for the amount of storage space and I have always liked Intel drives.
