I Always Wear Pearls With My New Basic Black Apron
Just kidding; I'm a retired married male. My wife still works, so I've taken on the mantle of dishwasher. But every time I did dishes the front of my shirt got wet. So I took to wearing a second shirt. That left the primary shirt dry, but it wasn't comfortable and it looked funny if somebody came to the door.I decided to get an apron. Nothing fancy and I didn't want it to say anything, cutesy or not. I found this one and bought it in black. It fits. It only took a few days to learn how to tie a bow behind me. It works great and there's even a magical quality to it. Not only does my primary shirt not get wet, the apron doesn't even get wet. I don't understand it. Once while I was wearing it I looked down and there was a tiny droplet of water clinging to the front of me, but it wasn't soaking into the fabric of the apron. It made me wonder if maybe they'd sprayed some of that stuff acts as a water repellent onto it. If they did, maybe the first time I wash it the stuff will wash out. But I don't care. Then it would just be the extra layer of fabric I wanted in the first place.I like this apron. I've found myself putting it on and walking around the house imagining myself a shoemaker named Giuseppe. Now when somebody comes to the door I immediately demand "You dropping off shoes?" in a thick phony Italian accent. They're immediately confused and blurt "NO." Then I just tell them I'm really busy fixing shoes and I don't have time to talk. And I close the door. They go away. That's magical too.I don't know what I'm going to do if somebody ever says yes, they've come to drop off shoes...

I feel like this apron would fit a small person much better. I'm 5'7, 148 lbs and I wish it would wrap around me a little more.
