Another Winner
Another winner from the band in their prime.I will buy any cd from any show-not for the sweet voice of Gram Parsons, but for the steel guitar of Sneeky Pete. He was like the Mick Taylor of pedal steel,in that all his solos were different, unique and dramatic,no two alike. Mike Clarke really brings it with his hamfisted style of drumming -works that ride cymbal better than anyone.my friend claims he saw the F.B.B. s in December 69,around the time of altamont at Proviso West High school in Hillside Illinois, and Mike did a drum solo.

For the Gram or Burritos completist; for the rest of us...meh.
I've really tried to like this performance, truly I have. I bought it as a bootleg and then again when it became available on KEYHOLE and it just doesn't quite make it. It's hard to tell how much of the lackluster quality is due to it being a bad recording or just because the Burritos are giving another one of their legendarily ramshackle performances (how out-of-it on booze and opiates was Gram on this occasion, one has to wonder). It's some of both probably but with more of the onus on the Burritos themselves. Even as a Seattle resident, I can't muster much enthusiasm for this, even after repeated listenings. If you are a Gram or Burritos completist, get this; otherwise... I'll be burning my copy to a CD-R and then flogging it to the local used record store. Eternal optimist that I am, I've just pre-ordered, also from KEYHOLE, the Burritos Live At The Palomino, North Hollywood, June 8th 1969. Being sourced from a radio broadcast, perhaps the sound will be better. Will the Burritos be on their game? Hope springs eternal.

Five Stars
The sound isn't perfect, but I still think it's pretty great. Glad I bought it.

So beware if you're looking for good to excellent quality
This is bootleg quality with "not too bad":packaging. The sound is an average audience cassette recording of 1969 with fade-ins on every track. So beware if you're looking for good to excellent quality. Having said that this recording has archival, historical value. Gram Parsons singing gets better and better as the show progresses and you understand why he is revered to this day. Also, Sneaky Pete is like Merlin with his Jimi Hendrix meets FuzzTone pedal steel alchemy. Chris Ethridge's loopy, idiosyncratic bass probably hints at why he was fired after this. There is also a track called "Out Of Control" (a George Jones song from the Mercury years 1955-1961) which I haven't encountered before on another Burritos source. Finally the packaging is pretty good looking. So buyer beware; it's an "okay" package!

Good if you're a GP and Burritos fan
Good if you're a GP and Burritos fan. Recording was so so. Interesting set list as only a few classic Burrito tunes.

Great document of a killer band in its prime
This recording has been in circulation for a long time, I bought a boot LP of it in 1991. If you're a fan of the band, you'll certainly want it. The tracks do fade in, but that's a small price to pay for a highly listenable document of this seminal band in its prime. Band sounds great, Gram is on point, Hillman's harmonies are, as always, spot on. Like I say, if you're a true Burrito Bros fan, run, don't walk.
