excellent sander
Looks like a locomotive, runs like a locomotive. Powerful, well built. I especially like the tension release handle for changing the belts. Weight is good (not light by any means) - no need to press down just let the weight of the sander do the job. Belt tracking has been very good so far (1 week use on a deck refinishing job). Use lower speed with grits 80 or under to avoid removing too much matrial too fast. Suggestion for improvement: the cord comes straight out of the handle and has a tendancy to catch on the workpiece and supports - next model have it come out at 45 or 90 degrees away from the operator.

A very useful Sander
I purchased this sander with one specific project that required several curved components to match up to each other. I used this sander to quickly remove stock using an 80 grit belt to achieve a perfect match. Using 220 grit belt finished off most of the remaining sanding and made the final hand sanding much easier and quicker. Since completion of the project I have used it on several other projects that required larger amount of stock removal then is reasonable for a palm sander. Belts are easy to change and track pretty well although keeping the section where the track adjustment is located clean seems to be a requirement on this particular sander. Also, the three inch width worked well for me. I am glad I didn't get a sander with a four inch belt as it is limiting on the radius of any curves.

this sanding frame is pretty useless out of the box because the big mounting ...
As others have posted, this sanding frame is pretty useless out of the box because the big mounting screw doesn't fit in its screw hole. I think, too, that the Triton sander that it mates with is pretty poor quality, especially for the price. Alas, for some mysterious reason it's one of the few belt sanders for which a sanding frame is available. And sanding frames are awesome! So I just ran out and bought a M6 1.0 tap, as per the last very generous and expert commenter, and it took me all of 2 minutes to fix the problem. Thanks "The Spoons"!!

Quality product
Well made , durable, a new productLet’s see if it does as well as Bosch 1274 dvs sander,I love the clamp down design.A bit on the heavy side to handle yet I think that we’ll save sandpaper in the long run.Well done Triton !!Brian 50 yrs contracting.

Hard to misplace with orange color...works great.
This sander is fantastic. Very well made. It replaced my 30 year old Craftsman sander which had been dropped too many times. The adjustable handle is great as are the hold down clamps. The power button lock easily and the speed dial works well. Belts are easy to change. The only thing missing is I wish it came with a hard case like my old craftsman.

Good sander, but lack of replacement parts keep it from being dependable.
5/20/15 - For the moment, I'm going to recommend that you stay away from this sander. Not because of its power, handling, dust extraction, or utility, but because it has as it's "weak link" a very small part that shouldn't be a weak link. This part is a threaded nut which becomes very significant because finding replacement parts for Triton tools is not easy.I like this sander and it is very powerful . . . until the nut securing the rear drive roller decides to strip its threads. My sander now runs but the belt will not turn since the drive roller has lost connection with the drive belt due to the failure of this nut. It is a reverse-threaded nut and, at this point, I'm not sure how to go about replacing it. I've emailed their support, but have not received a response. I will update this review if they choose to help out with this problem.Aside from that, you need to strongly consider looking elsewhere for a sander so you don't end up with an expensive and unusable tool in your shop. If finding parts were easier (here in the USA), then perhaps this wouldn't be such a potential ownership hardship.

Can't Hear the Explosions - I'm Using My Triton
This thing is a beast. Heavy, powerful - and LOUD. Seriously loud. Ear drum rupture loud. Like 100 db loud. Unnecessarily loud. But if you don't need your hearing, this is the belt sander to get.I particularly like the table mounting hardware (included). I'm using it that way until I can get/build an edge sander (with double hearing protection). The adustable handle and grip are very comfortable. It's a very nice, powerful tool that performs superbly - just waaay too LOUD.

Powerful, adjustable, easy-to-use
Helped me finish my deck job in record time. A strong & powerful sander but speed-adjustable for those moments when you need a little more precision. Belt tracking system is easy-to-use and effective, which is definitely a nice change compared to my old Makita.

Excelente.

I'm happy
Works well so far. A bit heavy but manageable. The work too clamps are handy but the straight edge is fairly useless.
