Does its primary job at a reasonable price
Living in a very mild climate (CA coast), my bathrooms do not have or really need heat, but I liked the idea of being able to step out of the shower and grab a warm towel. If it also radiated some heat into the room that would be a bonus, but not required. After researching, I settled on this Ambra model and am very happy with the decision. While it does not warm the room to any discernible degree (Ambra has more expensive/powerful models that you should look at if that is something you want), it does a very good job of warming my large (bath sheet size) towel in 10 to 15 minutes and producing the desired effect when I step out of the shower.Installation looked straightforward and fairly simple, though since I needed to have the electrical box added, I had the electrician go ahead and do the installation. The best piece I got from other reviews was to also get a programmable timer (I went with the Honeywell PLS730B), which allows it to start toasting my towel 10 minutes before I hit the bathroom for my morning shower.I also found a few bits of incorrect information in some of the older reviews that I thought I'd clear-up in case it impacts your decision:It uses an "Italian system" of non-liquid radiant heating, but is not an Italian-made product. Ambra is a US-based company, but this is not made in the US either. As (unfortunately) you can't seem to escape when on the lower end of the price scale, this item is made in China.

2 year warranty - lasted 3 years
Solid construction and easy to install. This model uses an electrical wire for heat. After 3 years it quit working. No replaceable parts other than the switch. Customer service was excellent. They sent a switch but that wasn't the problem. We will replace it with the same model. Nothing like having a warm towel waiting for you after a shower!

Solid construction but not so good design
Cutting to the chase... I would not buy this again. The construction is incredibly solid and it was not terribly difficult to install. However it does not do a very good job of warming towels up unless the towels are carefully threaded between each of the bars, which requires a fair amount of work every time you want to hang a towel up. Furthermore, the towel warmer just isn't wide enough. It's a couple of inches shorter than my standard size bath towel which means that the towel ends up bunched up. The biggest issue with this towel warmer is the heating pattern. The product description states that the vertical bars are also heated, as if that should be a selling point. The vertical bars are in fact heated to quite high temperatures which is puzzling, since this is not where the towel is hanging, but it does significantly increase the likelihood of inadvertent skin contact when brushing up against the towel warmer. The vertical bars get hot enough that they are very uncomfortable to touch even for a fraction of a second. In my opinion, the horizontal bars should be heated but the vertical bars should absolutely not be heated at all. If i had the room in my bathroom, I'd opt for the "bucket" style towel warmer that heats the entire towel.

Installation was pretty easy, I chose the hard wired model
I've purchased a "warm rails" in the past. About ten years ago. My warm rails is still working, but I have read that the newer ones are lower quality, so I switched to Amba.Every bit of this towel warmer is solid stainless steel. the mounts that hold the thing to the wallare stunningly high quality. No corners cut. Warm rails mounting hardware is plastic (thoughthe rails themselves are stainless, but the Amba is real quality. Installation was pretty easy,I chose the hard wired model, but I do my own electrical. If you are afraid to change a lightswitch better go for the plug in model.I would buy another of these and recommend without hestitation. I may put one in my guestbath. No you can't come visit.

Well made, quick heating, straghtforward to install.
This is really a sturdier rack than I expected, ordered a second one for a gift. The fixture is attractive. Mine is a direct wire on a timer wall switch. But, if in the off cycle, it takes only about 15' after turning it on to start getting warm towels. If it were not on wall switch, there is an on-off switch, though, if used often, this is a part that eventually dies in most appliances.

Really heats up the towels
So much better than the rack this one replaced, which was a stand alone rack.this one heats great. Wish it was slightly larger, but it does hold two towels nicely, and is warm enough to hold more if folded to do so. It is just not as convenient. I really love having a warm, dry towel.

Hot towels are Wonderful!
Added a timer to this and it works great!! You need to turn it on about an hour before your shower to have really warm towels. It also adds some heat to the room if you close the door when you turn it on.

nice piece. small quality control issue
it's a nice looking towel warmer. but our contractor discovered it's not quite square. not a big deal on drywall but when you're installing on marble tiles the grout lines can make it noticeable.
