Avian Parrot Playstand

Several years ago I owned a African Grey parrot by the name of "Annie". I purchased a cage. I researched the Internet to find a parrot STAND. After a good deal of comparing and reading dozens of feedbacks by buyers I purchased this stand. I have owned many parrots over some 45 years and this STAND was by far the finest unit available. Recently, we sold our Cape Cod home and decided to go the home rental way. Wonderful place but only one restriction : NO PETS ! Finally, decided to find a new home for our "Annie" ... took some screening but were able to find a wonderful home for our African Grey. After 6 months of living in an apartment decided this is not what we wanted for the rest of our lives. We found a beautiful duplex and they allowed birds but not dogs or cats. We decided on a small parrot this time : a Pionus parrot. It was again "buy a cage and a stand" mode. Bought a Hendrix - Prevue Cage and after much evaluation of parrot stands ... decided on this parrot stand. After removing it from its box and assembling it ... LOW AND BEHOLD it was the exact parrot stand that we had purchased for our African Grey parrot several years ago. We couldn't be happier ... it is the BEST stand out there for your money. And our newly acquired Pionus parrot spends 60 % of her time on her new stand! Have owned over 12 parrots over the last 45 years ... it is really important to provide them with an appropriate cage and stand.

I got this bird cage in an attempt to get my birds more involved in everyday life, so far as work pretty good. I like the fact that it rolls because it makes it easy to move it around wherever you want them to be, and when you have people over or maybe you don't want your birds out at that time you can easily just pick it up and move it to a different room where its out of the way. Also I love the steel tray, it makes it to where the bird poop doesn't get everywhere and make a complete mess, and it's easily cleaned up with a simple wet washcloth or towel. I have an African Grey and a Sun Conure and it is a good size for both birds. My conure took to it no problems but it still scares my Grey, though she is always weary of anything new. I like the fact that it has a hook for a toy so your birds can have a toy with them at all times and it keeps them entertained, although I thought it was weird that are hook came crooked. And when we attached hope to the purchase cells are purged already had a small split in it. However the split was so small and minuscule it doesn't really make much of a difference and we didn't need to report it or get her replacement. Overall I really think this purchase a pretty good church and I'm super happy with my purchase.

I have a cage by same company and love it. But the this stand came with a defective bolt/screw threading so could not be assembled. It was also way too large for my needs. The perch was not like the one shown in the picture, but instead very broom stick like. Disappointed and have to return because of defect. Just completed return form and was told 2-3 business days to determine if return is acceptable. Oh, they are taking this one back. Now I have to pick out another stand and hope for better luck.

The dishes are at the ends of the perch. Anyone that knows birds knows that they are going to try to get as high as possible. That means stepping up on the dishes. Which means the bird can get on a dish at the very end of the perch. Which means the bird's butt can be hanging far enough over the edge of the tray so that the poop goes right past the tray and down to the floor.Happens...all...the...time.There is no way that the person that designed this should have missed this. It was an obvious flaw from the instant we had it put together. One glance will tell you that this will be a problem. Unfortunately, it was not obvious from looking at the photo, which is all we had to go on before we bought it.Trying to figure out now how to work around this. Perhaps we will have to take the dishes off and secure the perch with some small nuts, and just not have dishes on the perch. Perhaps we will try and attach things to the tray under each dish, to catch the bird poop. Perhaps we will make a new top/perch ourselves. Perhaps we will junk this, eat the loss, and buy a different stand/perch.Do not buy this. Make them change their design before they can sell more of these.

It has the toy hook over the food bowl. If your a bird owner we all know that's not a good ides because thee bird sit on top of the toy holder then poos in his bowl. I took mine off so kind of a waste. Bowls screw off so take extra time to mess with. Wooden perch on it is a little large for small feet. So a med is to big for small bird is what I'm saying. It says it good for small to med bird. It's even a little bird for my med bird. I added a rope perch that you can bend and wrap and he likes that better. I put toys foot toys in one bowl and water in the other. It's just for playing out in living room so it works. Also the rolling feet do not lock in place. Dum move on their part. It's not well thought out but is pretty solid even for my Goffin Too. But nothing bigger for this size of one. When they flap their wings it good get a little wobbly. It helps if you put it on a small flat rug.

Arrived on time, packaged very well, extremely easy to put together, sturdy enough for my African Grey, and so easy to move from room to room. I do think that the toy hanger could have been better designed and not be hanging over water dish but minor irritation....Stand is well made and my gal does not get off it and chew up my household furniture.
