I use this for home baking. Before this, I was using a 5kg scale (accurate to 1g) for larger items like flour or sugar, plus a smaller 2kg scale (accurate to 0.1g) for measuring things like yeast or leavening. I got the 10kg version of this scale so I could have a larger weighing surface and capacity, plus the accuracy of my smaller scale. So far it works as expected, and I’m quite happy with it.I don’t have a set of test weights so I can’t speak to strict accuracy, but trying out a random assortment of objects on my old smaller scale vs this new one resulted in weights that were consistent, with the new scale registering each object about 0.2g more than my old one, so that works for my purposes. I don’t have any scales that are accurate to more than 5kg so I also can’t speak to accuracy in that range.It’s nice to have this much capacity. I can make a full batch of cookie dough and continually tare the workbowl before measuring the next ingredients, without worrying about overloading it. Making a big batch of tea, or brine for poultry is easy now that I can measure multiple quarts and liters of water directly into the stockpot.I’m using only battery power (it comes with an AC adapter but I prefer the portability and open counter space) and the cheap Amazon 9-volts are lasting for longer than I was expecting. I use the scale almost every day, for maybe 15 minutes a day on average, and I go through a new battery every 45-60 days or so. The battery indicator on the main LCD display shows the status on a scale of 3 bars, so you have a rough idea of where things stand.The feet are easy to adjust, so much so that picking up the scale and moving it around can move them out of whatever position they were in, so I find myself adjusting one or two each time I move it around on the counter. It would be nice if there were rubber washers or something to make them stay in place a little more, but it’s not a dealbreaker. The bubble-level display on the back makes it easy to align the scale plumb to the countertop.My only other complaint is the downward facing edges of the metal tray are somewhat sharp and not rounded. Since I use the scale for food items, sometimes flour or whatever gets on the surface of the scale underneath the tray, and wiping this area with a towel entails getting my fingers near the tray edges, which can easily cause cuts. If you are using the scale in a similar (messy) capacity, be mindful of this when cleaning it.

This is an accurate and reliable scale. It arrived pre-calibrated, which I confirmed for myself with calibration weights and against a known accurate scale I also own. The measurements are consistent and stable, without the annoying "float" between tenth-gram measurements that many other scales have. I use this in my cosmetics formulating lab and appreciate that I can weigh both larger and smaller quanties without having to switch to a smaller scale for the smaller quantities. I also really appreciate that it does NOT have the annoying auto shutoff feature, which has been a disruption to my formulating process with other scales. After a short while the backlighting will dim, but the scale stays on and retains its readings. Also I appreciate the leveling feature of this scale. Of note is that though this scale is very portable, it is a bit heftier than other scales I own. Also of note is that I am reviewing this in exchange for a three-dollar credit from Amazon. This doesn't affect my rating of the scale's quality, though without the email prompting me to review, I probably wouldn't have reviewed it since I don't review much these days.

These are great, I would give 4.5 stars because the internal battery cable on one has failed. I purchased 3 portable projector hard cases to protect them during car and flight travel. I need to know tenths of grams for my work and these do the trick.

I must say that this was an expensive scale and we use scales every day in my line of work. I took a gamble on this one as the range 20kg to 0.1g was VERY broad and I figured the thing surely couldn't be too accurate. I received it and sure enough it was off and giving me weird readings. I contacted the seller and to my surprise and delight they actually cared and stand behind what they sell. They personally calibrated another scale and shipped it to me with extremely fast shipping and low and behold this one worked wonderfully! I would have calibrated it myself, but this required a 20kg weight for calibration which I did not want to spend another $80 on.The company and specifically Mary at Great Wall Instruments were just phenomenal in helping me!!! As for customer service goes...You will not find better and buy with confidence that this company cares and will help you if you have a problem with anything.I need to mention something...For those of you who buy this, make sure you put it on a level counter top, make sure you get it as level as you can (use a level), and give it about an hour plugged in to warm up. You MUST do this in order to get an accurate reading. You have to realize that this thing has a VERY wide range it can weigh so it really needs to be VERY level and even a small room fan can make the reading off by a little. Overall with the replacement scale I am only off by about 0.1 gram between 2kg and 10 grams (using my smaller calibration set). I purchased this for the unusual purpose of weighing the carbon ceramic brake rotors for my Corvette (the key wear indicator). I also bought a set of weights to calibrate it. Something went wonkie and the scale ended up reading 10x (e.g., a 500g weight read as 5000g). I got a replacement at no charge. What I also learned, and I believe this is more Amazons fault than the scale manufacturer/seller, is the scale requires a 5kg calibration weight, while the set sold along side the scale on Amazon is only 1 kg total! Rather than trying to round up more calibration weights, I just let it go assuming the scale is accurate enough for my needs. The weight set purchased, thus, was a waste of money (but can be used as paper weights?).Outside of that gripe and issue, the scale seems to be well design, high quality, and is easy to use.

I was somewhat concerned from some negative feedback on this product. However I have not found it justified. I have used this scale many times over the past two weeks and have found it to be a reliable scale. The results I get are consistent with other less accurate scales I own [food scales with an increment of 1g], and they are generally repeatable - that is taking the same thing off the scale and putting it back on gives results that are very similar. I got the 30kg unit. I have found found that for large masses, eg >5kg that there can be a drift on the order of ~1g.I like the fact there is no auto-off because then I can leave the scale at its mark while I prep and do not have to record anything. I also like the built in option of using an adapter or battery, and the basic functions are easy to use. I have not done any calibration of the unit.Knowing what I know now, I would buy it again.

I paid for a new item. Product arrived today. However, the scale was secondhand. It had permanent marks all over it. I initially tried to clean them off thinking it was dust. Furthermore it kept giving me inconsistent results.
