These brushes totally changed my mind about chalk paint & kinda saved my whole project.
Soooo, I had this phenomenal idea to turn a 22 foot long wall in my home into our family picture wall. And to make it all gallery-like, it needed to be cohesive. So I decided to paint all the frames white. I decided on chalk paint since I had some for another project I had never gotten around to. Saw that it was recommended to use natural bristle brushes with chalk paint, so I ordered these. I started in on the project the next day just using a synthetic brush instead of waiting for my Amazon order, cause I figured it was just frames and I had, like a bajillion of the suckers to paint.....how much difference could a brush make??? The answer is a helluva LOT! There were streaks and drag marks and no matter how many coats I used, I couldn't get a decent finished product. I was cussing about the paint and the stupid synthetic brush and the mess and seriously thinking this project was just a bad idea......and then my Amazon order showed up with my natural bristle brushes. At this point I was ready just to scrap the whole idea because I really didn't think the brushes were gonna magically fix this mess I had created. The next day I opened the brushes and decided to try at least one coat on a frame before I gave it up as a lost cause. Well, the right brush actually makes a huge freakin' difference is what I found out. The picture of the brushes is after 17 of the frames have been painted with 3 coats each over 3 days. I still have 34 more to do, but I figured at this point I have a fairly good idea how these things perform. Here's the details. They hold and apply the paint incredibly well, almost NO shedding of bristles (2 hairs on the tapered round one came out), and they wash up AMAZINGLY easy (and that is my pet peeve about brushes, that crusty line of dried paint that happens when you're working on a project that takes hours and then no matter how you try to clean the brush you can never get that (@&*$(@! dried on paint line off at the top). Speaking of that pet peeve, apparently you're supposed to wet a natural bristle brush with water before you use it because the fibers are "natural" and therefore will absorb whatever color/stain you're using......I found that out after I had used these things for 2 days and finally googled how to care for natural bristle brushes (cause by that point I liked these things and wanted to take care of them forever). These didn't do that even though I failed to wet them before use. Like I said, I used them with chalk paint, so they cleaned up with water just beautifully. There is no fraying or stray bristles poking every which way after a few uses like most of the cheap brushes I have used in the past. The handles are solid and comfortable to use, and the leather straps on them are actually kind of handy. I wasn't sure if they would get in the way and I would be dragging them through paint and my project and over the counter. They didn't at all.....I hardly noticed them when I was using the brushes and they are perfect to hang them while drying (or storing too, I guess) so you don't damage the shape of the brush. The round tapered (pointed?) one was so handy for the picture frames and getting into all corners and detail work on some of the more ornate frames I'm using. I honestly don't have one bad thing to say about these. I obviously have a LOT to say in general, though. Good grief, this was a long review but in this case the product was totally worth it!!! Oh, and I can't believe I got this kind of quality at such an amazing price point.....that's kind of the best part of the whole thing, I think.

Professional brush set
Excellent stencil and wax brushes. I used them on some photos of projects that I shared. They are easy to use and clean and dry well. I’m very pleased with the set.

Great value . . ..
Other than some bristles falling from the brushes, they are fine and a good value. I would suggest testing the brushes with your paint first before beginning your project. Each brush delivers different results. Painting in one direction is highly recommended. Based on Annie Sloan’s suggestion, I didn’t paint in one direction and have paint streaks going the wrong direction on my cabinet. Oh well.

Great brushes and the price is Awesome!!!
Excellent products!!!!! I kept looking at the awfully expensive Annie Sloan brushes but just couldn’t validate spending $75 for one single chalk paint brush. Then I found these and I am so stinking happy I did. They work great!!! Easy to use, hold, and clean up too. So far a few bristle losses with use, but not any more than expected with normal use. Delivery was fast and packaged well. Thank you for an amazing product!!!!

Amazing set of brushes!
Yes ... they do seem a little pricey. However, I used three of them to apply sanded-grout on a detailed, sculpted, styrofoam background I created for a 75 gallon terrarium ... they all surpassed my expectations! Not only did they handle the heavy grout mixture, BUT they were able to get into some hard to reach areas. Plus, the bristles were stiff enough to push the grout into some deeper crevices I made. To top it off, they cleaned very easily, maintained their shape, and are ready for the next project. They weren't designed for what I used them for ... so I'm assuming they will more than pass muster for any type of paint job or art project you many have in mind. A BIG thumbs up!

One and done
I liked the price. I disliked the shedding of bristles. During painting my furniture I would have to pick out bristles that fell out. I didn’t catch all of them and when the paint dried, I saw them, removed them and had to sand and repaint those areas. I’d say for small projects these are fine but not for furniture. Unless you enjoy picking bristles out of wet paint.
