I love the feel, the tone, the ability to hold tune, and also take a beating! I’ve settled on the custom light, over light and extra light, they bend on my acoustic like it’s my Strat! Choose your gauge, these are great quality strings, you’ll love them.

I liked the fact that they are coated so you can slide up and down the neck with no finger squeal while sounding like good strings should sound. I have Gibson Custom J-100 Xtra with Bubinga sides and back, and a custom dreadnought with African Rosewood presenting the sound. They sound great on both. I wound up getting my kids these strings to put on their Breedlove, Seagull and Yamaha acoustics, and they love them. Made their guitars sound noticeably warmer and brighter with good bottom end. I think their guitars sound like I paid more for them than I did, so I'm happy with that. If a few bucks in price is an issue for you compared to the next step down, you probably haven't been playing long enough to notice the difference anyway. Good job Martin!

Smouth, shinny and sound like any other!

I think Martin strings sound best on my Martin Performing Artist acoustic electric guitar. These string have a more deep and full sound. Elixir strings are too bright for my Martin Guitar.

I'm just a novice player for personal entertainment. My 1970s Yamaha FG180 Red label is a great guitar for my needs. I bought it used because I love the sound of the old Yamahas and their ease of play. The strings that came with it were a bit too stiff and it made playing it with my old hands more difficult. The extra light Martin strings were something of an experiment to try something lighter. Well, it worked well and the strings make it so much easier to play, especially the barr cords. The only negative I find is that volume seems lower which poses no problem for me as I'm a "living room" musician. I recommend these strings.

These strings absolutely sing. My 6 string D18 rings like a 12 string. And they've sounded like that for 6 months now. Will never go back to the old strings. Well worth the extra cost.

I picked these up for my granddaughters 1/2 sized guitar. She's just getting started and needs something a little lighter for her 6 year old fingers. The sound is still surprisingly robust with a small guitar and these strings. I'm impressed that the strings sound this good on such a small, inexpensive guitar. I'd definitely buy these again to restring the guitar when necessary.

If you're looking for a great set of strings for that new guitar, or that old Martin, give these a whirl. Their bright sound will make that guitar sing. And, they're gonna last a lot longer due to their construction, which means less frequent changing. That'll have you playing more.
