I used to drink pre-made iced coffee from the grocery store. Then the manufacturer changed the recipe to something worse, and I had to find an alternative.I found this cold brew coffee maker. WOW, is this so much better! Before I was limited to just a couple of pre-made flavors; now I can choose any type of ground coffee on the shelf! I also got to experiment with all of those various flavors of creamer.Making coffee is very easy:1. Fill the mesh cylinder with coffee grounds (coarsely ground is recommended). Leave a little bit of space at the top of the mesh for water to flow out.2. Pour water over the grounds until the pitcher is full.3. Put in the refrigerator for a minimum of 24 hours (longer if you want it stronger)4. Mix in a pitcher with creamer and sweetenerMy personal favorite is to choose a dark roast coffee, and mix it with a hazelnut creamer.And one of the advantages of cold brew vs hot brew is that this coffee does not have a bitter edge to it. I mixed my cold brew coffee with creamer one day, and DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE I left out the Stevia when I drank it. No bitter edge.As far as the quality of the pitcher, I have no complaints. The glass has lasted for years, as has the mesh filter. I don't put it in the dishwasher, however; I find it's just easier to fill it with warm, soapy water and let it sit until I need it again, a few days later. Pour out the soapy water, rinse it off, and it's ready to go again to make delicious cold brew coffee!
