Inaccurate description of condition of book
the book was listed as "good" condition, but there was water damage and it was hard to open the pages.

Enjoyable concept marred by errors and quality of some puzzles
In general, this book is entertaining and the variety of types of puzzles presents dynamic challenges. Unfortunately, the book is marred by a number of misleading problems, language issues, and most egregiously entirely incorrect answers provided for some problems. The former problems could be easily overlooked, but the latter is fairly unforgivable. If a book presents answers to the problems provided, those answers should be correct.I will seek to contact the publisher regarding the errors identified so far, though my expectations of receiving an update or response are not high.

The puzzles are cool and some are pretty hard
The puzzles are cool and some are pretty hard, I'm certainly no consulting detective. However the bummer is a friend and I both ordered a copy of this and then a week later she found it as a board game! A wicked cute board game with all these extras and fun stuff rather than reading puzzles out of a book. If you're thinking about buying this I recommend going to find the game instead.

Fun for a challenge
Fun for a challenge. I like to leave it on the coffee table so anyone can use it. Fun to do a riddle or math problem every once in a while.

Great book!
Bought this for my 15 year old daughter and she loves it. Not only is it keeping her attention, she's keeping a note pad next to it and writing down words she doesn't know and looking up definitions. It's really helping to broaden her vocabulary.

Hard to solve, but that's good
Fun but tough to solve puzzles, even the easy ones.

Buyer beware
I bought this book as a Christmas present for my friend's grandsons aged 10 and 12. I hoped it would tempt them away from play stations etc. Later I bought my own copy and started to solve the problems. As a mathematician myself, I concentrated on those problems. I found that nearly all needed knowledge of algebra and geometry at a level of GCSE maths and higher. One or two answers were wrong, and many of the explanations were sketchy and poorly explained. I have no problem with the word puzzles, although some answers were of the deus ex machina variety, e.g. the spy who fell from a balloon.I have written to the publishers on this topic, and I hope that future editions will be corrected.
