Bill is well known in the Oldsmobile and the NMCA Drag Racing Circles. If you know him or have read his postings on his web forum, this book is exactly what you would expect. Informative, professionally done and no punches pulled. Bill is very open about what has and hasn't worked for him. While it's hard for any book of this type to cover everything in detail, I can't imagine anybody who is building an Olds motor or having one built for them that wouldn't find this book well worth the investment. I highly recommend it.

Very well written, excellent photographs and well documented performance tips. Will surely save me time and money on a future rebuild.

Bill knows his Oldsmobiles. The longevity and power of his engine builds are proof that he knows what he is doing. I would highly recommend this book to anyone getting ready to start a performance Oldsmobile engine build. Much of his advice is based on his personal experience. The book is an easy read. Lots of useful information based on his experiences.

This book is worth the price to any Olds enthusiast. If you read any online forums, you know Bill is a little impressed with himself, and it shows somewhat in this book. I kind of find that endearing in a way. Lots of helpful information here, but there are a number of comments that really could use more explanation. It is evident this was his first attempt at writing a book, and from that standpoint it's pretty good. Would like to see a second revision with some clarifications and some better editing from the publisher to draw a clearer distinction between basic engineering facts and Bill's opinions and anecdotal evidence. This book would benefit greatly if Bill teamed up with an experienced technical writer to help better organize and clarify the information.

Great book. Lots of information about Oldsmobile engines. It had some of the specifics I was looking for related to the Oldsmobile diesel engines. The parts are more interchangeable with the Oldsmobile gas V-8's than I realized.

This book has given me a lot of information about properly building an olds motor, there is a lot of little things that this book talks about that many machine shops will not advice on. It has been helpful in my motor build.

Even if you are an experienced engine builder, there is information in this book you can use to your advantage. If you are building an Olds motor for the first time, you NEED this book. Even if you are having someone else build it for you, buy this book and lend it to them. Bill is the best there is in the Olds world, and will go the extra mile to help you achieve your goals.

The cost of this book is nothing compared to how much money are you going to spend to rebuild your engine and I rather get technical information from a NSCA World Champ than someone on a message board.Lets say you only learn 3 things by reading this book, just one of them could be the difference between an engine that runs like a High Performance Oldsmobile engine should or one that doesn't.

This book is fantastic and incredibly helpful, it's fully illustrated and it covers every major aspect of building an Oldsmobile engine. The layout is great, the content is excellent and easy to follow, and it's written by a true Oldsmobile expert builder and racer with honest reviews, opinions, tips, tricks, and advice based on his many years of personal professional experience. I bought this book during the early stages of a high-performance Olds 455 engine build and this book has been my holy grail for the project so far. It's the perfect tool for planning an engine build and a must-have reference for anyone looking to get more power out of their Oldsmobile V8.

Trop heureux de trouver ce magazine (dans le format) sur les moteurs Olds, écrit par la référence du genre qu'est Bill Trovato, je ne peux que recommander cet ouvrage.Bien entendu, si vous avez un moteur spécifique, et c'est souvent le cas, il vous donne de nombreuses informations et conseils sur tous les moteurs avec des illustrations à la clé, à vous ensuite de trouver toutes les pièces dont il est fait référence adaptées à votre engin. Ce livre est écrit pour des Américains, alors en France, il vous faudra de la patience...

Although I don't agreet 100% with everything the books says, It is still a very informative book.A good read if you are building an Oldsmobile.
