Not Velcro, NO it will not work with Velcro backer.
This is not velcro, nor will it fit or even work with a velcro backer. It is designed for a completely different type of buffer attachment system. Regardless of what the reviews say, as of 4 August 2015, it does not work with a velcro backer and it does not have strings to attach it or tighten the bonnet.

Old style, not hook & loop, good quality.
Hard to find, not hook & loop. Just what I needed, installed with a screwed on arbor through the center hole.
