Great adapter for adding extra GPUs
The rise works great, the extra graphics cards I attached to the motherboard via the riser cables were quickly recognized by the OS and have been running smoothly since then

So far, very good!
I have been using two of these extension cables/connectors and they work well for utilizing 1x PCIE lanes for GPUs.

Works
Worked for installing a 8x raid card into a 1x slot. Worked in one computer but not another so might be motherboard dependent. Raid card is dangling on zip ties - not great, not terrible.

It works for Asrock Q1900B and HD7570
Let me start with the basics; if you are in a similar situation as I was, needing to fit a pcie x16 gpu on a motherboard (mine being an Asrock Q1900B-ITX) that only had a pcie x1 connector, this can work, as long as your motherboard and operating system supports it.My Asrock Q1900B and Windows 10 Pro had no problem detecting the graphics card. After I installed the adapter and my gpu (an HD 7570) I booted into Windows first and through the magic of the internet and Microsoft's automatic driver loading, within two minutes the screen flickered and the resolution automatically adjusted to 1080P. Device manager showed that I had gone from the Windows default basic graphics adapter to AMD 7500 series adapter. Magnificent! Now the not-so-good news.... As other reviewers before me have already noted the adapter has one characteristic that is not desirable if you're trying to use this in a tight case (mine is the InWin BL040) it's impossible to sit a gpu in an expansion slot. I ended up Dremeling my case to create a new slot and wedging my small gpu with some foam and duct tape above the motherboard. See the photos. I can imagine that perhaps the orientation of the ribbon/cable might not be such a problem for other users and in other cases.

High build quality, but fitment issues.
Pros:High build quality.Good materials.Allows power from the pcie slot.Cons:Both connectors are too tall.I wanted to use this to retain access to the pcie slot stuck under the gpu heatsknk.Unfortunately the host side connector is too tall and impacts the heatsink. The peripheral connector is also told tall and impacts the case, preventing an attached card from securing to the back case slots. This product needs two improvements to be a perfect product.Shorten both connectors.Attach the cable so it is at a right angle instead of coming straight out of the connectors.Overall I still found use for it, just not what I purchased it for.
