I bought 6 of these easels for my art workshops. The instructions however were totally worthless. We finally figured it out.NOTE: The black turn knobs are on a metal piece when they arrive. those need to be unscrewed from the metal pieces. The metal rods are to hold the palette and hook on to the bottom of the canvas holder.Once you figure it out, it takes minutes to assemble.

Instructions are poorly written and illustrated. Some parts don't seem to have a function and are not explained. The easel is adequate but not very stable. I may have done something wrong in the assembly but the instructions are not clear and there is no one to call or write to help me figure out what to do. I had to rig up a duct tape alternative to achieve a modicum of stability. Although it is barely satisfactory, I would not recommend this product to anyone serious about painting. There are better alternatives.

Not great but okay - some of the knobs are stripped already. The back broke on 3 of them. Disappointing.
