Solution to my woes
Update: turns out, it wasn't the Optical Switcher after all. The jack in my sound card is loose, and it was only coincidental that it went away for a while after I removed the Optical Switcher. Optical Switcher works as intended, and saves my knees!I'm not sure if this device was always causing this effect, but I eventually got so frustrated with stuttering audio from my PCs streaming music and video services that I spent about 10 hours one day looking up possible causes. Audio stuttering seems to be a common problem since the advent of Windows 10, so there was a lot of material on the subject. I feel like an idiot since it took me so long to figure it out, especially since I troubleshoot for a living, but once I removed this Optical Switcher, the problem was gone. Damn it! I loved this switcher. I think a part of me didn't want it to be the case. I used to have to reach under my table every time I used one of three audio/video players to switch optical cables, and this switcher eliminated that. And it seemed to work just fine... until I noticed the stutter. It's hard to detect on anything that isn't a constant sound. So be forewarned. This switcher may cause stuttering. Not happy to report it. Guess I need to find one that doesn't cause stuttering...

Sweet-looking device that solves the receiver's "single digital optical input" dilemma! LOVE IT!
This solved my dilemma: two next-gen gaming consoles with digital optical outputs and a 5.1 receiver with only ONE digital optical input. Gaming is as much about the sounds as it is the visuals, especially in 1st-person shooters! (Hearing the baddies trying to creep up on you is a MUST!) I actually didn't know if such a product existed and an Amazon search for "digital optical splitter" brought the Rerii up. I chose the Rerii over the others because it has a multi-switch dial on it, so that I know for sure what I have routed to the receiver. Plus, it looks the coolest! Ha! Hooking it up was as simple as it appears. Run the console outputs to the input jacks on the Rerii and then the yellow output cord (hardwired) to the receiver. Bam! Done. The twist knob has a lockout push button to depress, making sure that it remains locked in position until you decide to change it. The lockout gives a satisfying click when moved to the next position. Works absolutely perfect and the sound is incredible! Now, I'm just counting down to the release of Star Wars Battlefront... Thanks, Rerii, for making the perfect solution to my dilemma! 5 out of 5!!

Didn't work with my Astro Wireless Mix Amp
The product arrived promptly and was as described. The selector dial isn't smooth (as mentioned in other reviews) and doesn't seem to click into place all the time (as mentioned in other reviews), this might loosen up with use. I had to return mine. I was using it as a switch on my PS4 so that I could run sound to both my TV and stereo. The device worked fine when connected to the stereo (hardwired all the way), but when I ran the one of the cables to a Astro wireless mix amp there was all sorts of really obnoxious crackling. I tried all three out ports. The wireless mix amp/headphones work fantastic when plugged directly into the PS4 but do not work through this switch.

Just what I needed
This has worked great so far. I switch lightly from various optical inputs into my receiver and so far, this has worked flawlessly. I like the fact that the dial requires the user to push in the top button to move it, and the button pops back out when the dial is in the correct position. It alleviates any guesswork in positioning the switch, and makes sure it locks in place for the different input settings. The switch itself is a bit large and the white/gold coloration is rather strange (wish it was black/grey so it would blend in more with my equipment), but so far it's worked exactly as I've wanted, so I'm happy with the purchase.

Just what i needed
Works like a charm using it for my PS4 and Xbox one. A big bonus that there is another port open for future use. The only issuse is the stiffness of the dial used to change between signals. I have the unit attached with velcro to the side of my components cabinet for easy access and have to still hokd it down to switch. This is also a plus as it feels solid and made well for plastic. Wish it would have been available in other colors as to match my cabinet.Worth every dime.

Works well but kind of big.
Works very well on all channels. I would suggest to press the button fully then align to your selection and slowly let the button out. I don't know how the connection works inside but if it uses fiberoptic connections then you would not want to scratch those by a poor line up or moving while button not pressed.Only con is I wish it was smaller. It is a lot bigger than I expected. It is out of the way of site but just thought it was smaller.

Works perfectly!
Works great. I like being able to change the output of the single optical port on the television. I use it to go to a headphone box so I may use the tv when my wife is sleeping (there is no head phone output on the tv, only optical). This paired with a good optical-to-headphone amplifier box is just what I needed. Note that just an optical to analog converter will not allow you to control the volume to the headphones, so you need to get a box that has headphone volume control built in.

Dont buy this
What a piece of garbage!!!!! Do not buy this. Im ok with cheap, knock off and generic adaptors but they have to work. Optical cables have a small notch to keep them in place, this thing barely sits in its slot and will continually fall out meaning you have to wiggle the cable every time you want to use it. Even if it stayed in place the adapter is actually quite large and cumbersome. I plan on returning it.
