Gut [Giulia Enders] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Gut Review: Fascinating - Well written, well researched and absolutely fascinating. As a medical practitioner I would note that the old adage of ' as people get older their conversations turn to health, wealth and their bowels' becomes truer and truer. I would hazard a guess that greater than 70% of people over 70 are in some way constipated and their bowels are a constant area of worry and preoccupation. This book in a light hearted but factual way sheds light on the troubles that can occur in the GIT as well as many practical ways to handle these problems. The research into the relationship with the GIT and the immune system as well as the multiple feedback loops to the CNS I found intelligently written and very interesting. I commend and congratulate Ms Enders on a terrific job. Everyone should read this book. Review: Stomach bugs have a sense of humour! - Written in a very simple style so that a layman can understand it, yet explains the interactions in our gut biome very clearly. In some cases the style is as if it was aimed at children but rather than irritate me I found myself smiling and enjoying it. A very easy read of a complex subject that gave me the insights I was looking for. Plus it gave me a far better understanding of kitchen hygiene to boot. Not often you find a book on a complex subject written by a specialist that is both informative and humorous in style providing an enjoyable read.

Gut: the inside story ...
This fascinating account reveals the importance of our digestive system, discusses how it all works to our benefit for lifelong good health - and it is all written in simple layman's language. The pro's and con's of many familiar medical treatments are discussed at length in understandable language. I found it most absorbing and informative. The delightful illustrations enhance the text, and provide a light touch.

Playful in-depth introduction to our "lower" self
Excellent translation of a vital, readable book on our body's health through the belly. There are many practical insights on maintaining our good health and understanding what a key role our intestines play. I experienced joy and laughter reading the book.

It's an interesting read, and especially the first half is really good. I got a bit bored in the second half. Did learn stuff, tho!

Liked it for the lessons, struggled with the some of the technical discussions
For Content Value (once I had read the book through!) I would give it 5 stars. Yet I sometimes found it very difficult to read, partly because there is a a sense of repitition sometimes, and partly because the technical discussions went whooosh!, She tries to overcome it by using a chatty style, but in the meat of the book, chatty didn't overcome whooosh! for me. It seems to me that she is addressing two audiences at the same time: her peers and the public. When the writing was directed at the former I just parsed forwards (accepting the arguments as valid) until I returned to the interpretations and suggestions where I got all the value. I think a lot of folk wouldn't finish the book for that reason, and that would be pity because the real value for the ordinary reader is in the last 50 or so pages

Gut health = Mental & Physical Health
The most comprehensive book you’ll ever read about gut health. I don’t need any other book after this. The author describes in full detail how we should understand our bodies.

Worth reading
Guilia Enders' light entertaining style and amusing details at the start of the book belie the wealth of information and serious research that she shares throughout the book. I found her passion for the subject quite contageous and am delighted that she has made some of the latest research regarding the gut-brain connection and the gut micro-biome so accessible to the general reading public.

Must read. Loved the book and its light hearted approach to a heavy topic. Emphasises rah importance of a missing link in our journey to understand health and wellness. Many thanks to the author. Look forward to a sequel as more research and knowledge emerges.
