Growing Naturals Rice Milk, Creamy Vanilla, 15.2-Ounces (432-Gram)

UPDATE Dec 7, 2017:I ordered a couple of bags of this, but I don't use it anymore, it is not bad, and I did use it for white chocolate, and it actually did not turn out terrible, I used this interchangeably for regular powdered milk in a recipe, but because it is sweetened with Stevia, you do not need to add sugar, or very little to your white chocolate.I have since found a very high quality powdered coconut milk at a locally owned health food store that contains no lactose or dairy in it, which is very hard to find for some reason, and I will eventually put up the information for this powdered coconut milk when I buy it again.ORIGINAL REVIEW 2014:I didn't actually buy this product to drink it, I bought it to use in making dairy free home made chocolate and white chocolate since they call for powdered milks (you cannot use liquid milks in them), and I am allergic to soy as well as dairy. Sadly, the non-soy powdered dairy free milks are sorely lacking, so your options are few. The only other brand I could find appears to either be revamping their recipe or is going out of business since no one has their product except at exorbitant prices as of this date (1-8-14). For the intended use of white chocolate, it worked amazingly well, I liked the taste it imparted and it made the chocolate pretty smooth and added extra sweetness without the extra sugar. It did not, however, work so well for the purpose of drinking. I couldn't see myself drinking this product, which is its intended purpose (well, I did make a sort of protein shake in my shaker with equal amounts cocoa powder and filled will almond milk and it wasn't bad that way, but I would never just drink the powder with water, which sadly defeats the purpose.). it is far to sweet and not milk-like at all, not even like normal rice milk. I will happily use this product in smoothies or baking, but its just not drinkable for me, its not gritty, just too sweet due to the stevia and not viscous enough, its just a very thin watery yellow liquid, which is not all that appetizing sadly. At the present, I will keep this product on my shelf until a better non-dairy and non-legume product is available, but really people, we deserve better. This product should taste better as it is intended as a drink, its nice that it is good in things, that's a good aspect of it, for sure, as having a powdered milk substitute for someone who's allergic to soy/legumes and dairy is invaluable as a baking ingredient, but I still impatiently await for a company to make a truly good drinkable powdered rice milk. I have two kids with food allergies so I am very limited to what I can use in the house. Between two of them, we can't have milk, eggs, soy, wheat, nuts, and corn. So what is left?? only rice milk (well, I tried oat, sunflower, hemp, etc but I could not get used to the taste). I usually buy rice milk from refridgerated section at the supermarket. I needed poweder milk to use for baking and to mix with my coffee. When you mix this powder with any liquid, it does not disolve well and you have to mix it very well. I usually have to use a back of spoon against a cup and stir multiple times. Other than that, the task is good (well it is not like MILK, as you know) and it does give choices to people with food allergies. So, I really appreciated that they came up with this product. If you can take regular milk, you might want to stick with milk. But if you have food allergies, this is a good alernative product to purchase.

I love to use this dry mix for canoe camping adventures when I have to carry my own weight in food on my back. It helps to ensure I am getting my calcium needs met on a long physically demanding journey and it provides a great source of protein too! I really like the taste of this. It doesn't mix perfectly unless I use my blender (something I don't bring on wilderness trips) but I can still either mix it in food or I just deal with the little bit of grittiness in my milk drink, something that is no big deal to me. I love that this is a vegan dry milk mix and that is my number one reason for choosing this product. I also like the nutritional value it has and the convenience of it. Other dry vegan milk mixes might work slightly better for drink mixes but they lack the nutritional value that this offers and I am not comfortable with some of the other ingredients in those products. I am very happy with Growing Naturals Rice milk! I am even thinking of ordering some for Christmas presents for family this year.

Not only was the wrong product delivered, the one that was (raw rice protein) is almost undrinkable...and I've had some nasty protein shakes before.

Ok. A little grainy but I use it in smoothies so doesn't bother me to much. Taste is alright. I'd rather have the unflavored Rice Milk so that I could use it in savory dishes also. Would order again if I could get the plain one

I like to take this rice milk powder with me when traveling as it is easy to mix and I don't have to worry about traveling with liquids. It does have a very distinguishable flavor, which is a drawback.

The Growing Naturals Rice Milk Creamy Vanilla is pretty tasty. I like how easily it mixes. I like the high protein value. I've tasted other powdered milk substitutes and find this the most palatable so far. Thanks for a great product that I will surely keep in stock. Ivy

Worked for what I needed it for - a great substitute for powdered milk in recipes, and a great addition to protein smoothies. The vanilla flavor is just right, not to strong or artificial tasting like so many similar products.

Total waste of money. Too sweet for a milk. My baby fell sick after taking it ones.The company refused to take it back, please go for liquid rice dream or almond liquid milk.
