This is a title for my review of the game 'Arboretum'
This is a great game full of strategy and tension, which is perfect for travelling, to play as a filler before heavier games or as a gentle entry point for casual players.I took two stars off because of my personal opinion of the design choices for the deluxe version. I bought the deluxe version because the standard edition is already expensive, so if I was spending that much, five pounds more didn't seem like a lot for the added features. The packaging is lovely but for me, the shiny deluxe cards are REALLY bad. The appeal of the game to me is that it's elegant, restrained, quietly beautiful: a stroll through a bucolic scene. The shiny foil cards in the deluxe version reflect like crazy under even the dimmest of lighting; it's extremely distracting and totally anathema to the theme. Looking at the cards is like having an aneurysm inside a disco ball. I get that they wanted a flashy selling point to sell the deluxe copy but honestly I think they should have kept the original cards and added some extra facts about the trees or something. You'd think in a park on a sunny day would be the ideal setting for this game, right? Wrong. There's so much glare on the cards we found it impossible to play.

Great game, but got standard version not the deluxe version I paid for.
Sure this is a great game, but did not get the deluxe edition of the game like I was under the impression I had bought.Got this back in July for a friend's birthday and only got around to giving it to him this week so out of return/problem window - when he opened it I found out I had only been sent a standard version: no box, velvet bag or extra cards. Not renegade's fault, got from different seller.
