Meh, it's fine.
Just threw away my older TYR square leg suit that I used regularly for a couple of years!I took this one out of the envelope today and immediately was reminded of a couple of nights ago in the locker room when I saw a random suit lying on the bench. The first thing I though was 'man, that guy must have an enormous butt' because the suit looked gigantic all splayed out. Well, the suit I took out of the envelope looked very similar to the one that I saw in the locker room, and it was only a size 34. I'm a 31 to 32 waist size and I took everyone on here's advice and ordered a size up and was a little worried that the suit would be too big. I got home and put it on over my 3 inch trainer and it seemed to be a little big as far as extra baggage in the front and back, a little like a diaper, but then I took my stupid black cotton socks off and I looked like a normal swimmer again. Yes, the legs are snug but are fine. They'll probably be snug regardless of the size you get. Anyway, the only thing ordering a size up does, it seems, is turn the suit into a drag suit. I think it will be fine, but I think a size 32 would have been fine too, just wouldn't have been a drag suit. So I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

Perfect for the modest...
I bought this swim suit for a trip to Mexico with a friend of mine. The resort was "adults only" and the entire place was clothing optional. Not being totally comfortable in my birthday suit around strangers (but MANY people at the resort were quite comfortable in their birthday suits) I opted for the "European" style of this trunk to wear around the resort and on the beach. The fit, quality of construction and sizing were very good. I was more than happy wearing these trunks all day and it didn't matter if I was lounging on the beach, walking around, swimming...any and every activity was fine in these shorts. At night, I would rinse them out in the shower and hang dry. By morning they were dry and ready for another day's adventure!Only reason they didn't get 5stars was for them to look really good on you, you almost need a body like the model in the picture. They hide nothing and don't leave much to the imagination...

Take it or Leave It
First, Amazon lists this suit as being regularly 29.50. The suit arrived with tags stating the suggested retail price of 27.50. I paid about $29.00. Paying a buck fifty too much isn't the end of the world, it's just the principle. The only reason I got this suit was because I wanted a suit that wasn't black or navy, and I thought this suit was a nice change. I'm sure the suit would have been fine, but it didn't really meet my expectation. I like other TYR products, but here is a link to my favorite suit so far: http://www.amazon.com/Speedo-Nylon-Stripe-Square-Bathing/dp/B0006UZWD4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1283369670&sr=1-4

Works great and the price is outstanding. Solid choice.
The suit works great and the price was even better. The interior lining is attached only at the waist and therefore is a "floating" speedo underneath a square leg suit. It is not the best suit I've ever worn and that is why I didn't give it 4 stars. For me, 5 stars are reserved for products that exceed my expectations or blow my mind. This is a solid choice for a great price.

I like the suit but I don't think it will last ...
I like the suit but I don't think it will last that long. I've had it barely a month and it's faded quite a bit and I rinse it out after every swim. The last suit I had of this color faded in less than a week. It could be this color just doesn't hold up well though I love it. I think they should make the lining black instead of the same royal blue as to give the suit to give it a longer shelf life.

Nice design & family-friendly coverage
This is my second pair - the first one lasted several years of beach and pool, though I do not swim for sport. This is very close to five star, but in spite of consistent feedback, they have never added any elasticity to the leg opening. My thighs fall between skinny and muscular. For me, the thighs are too tight when the waist is sized appropriately. In pants, I wear 32' but in these suits, I buy 34". Nice design & family-friendly coverage. Would be five stars if the thigh was bigger, or had elastic.

Are these things supposed to hurt?
I bought these because I needed something to wear under the board shorts I wake board in. I have no previous experience with grape smuggler type swim suits, so maybe I'm ignorant, but I ordered these in a 32". I normally wear a 30" waist and that usually still gives me some breathing room. These things however cut into my thighs and squish my junk like a tranny-tuck from hell. I'm a relatively fit guy with a very slender build, I can't for the love of me think that these are supposed to fit this way, but again, I'm not some body shaving meat head Michael Phelps wanna-be, so maybe those dudes want that. Me however, I was trying to just find something that would work like underpants that I could wear in a lake.

Older model was better
This is the second swimsuit my son got. He can still wear the old one which was 15 months old when we bought this one. This one like the last one he wore 5 days a week every week and in less than 6 months the color faded. The older one was still a blackish grey while this one was much lighter. The thigh for this one was tighter than the older one. I was very disappointed with this product.
