From the children singing and bidding farewell to their beloved pets who are now under twisted wooden crosses adorned with dog collars and the like, to scenes in which an exhumed soldier goes screaming mad through realising he is living in a decomposing corpse, Pet Sematary really is a true horror film. The plot involves a doctor and his family who move into a house not far from a main road. When the doctor's young daughter's cat is killed by a juggernaut, his enigmatic neighbour shows him how to bring the unfortunate moggy back to life by means of an ancient Indian burial ground. Things start getting out of hand when the doc's son Gage is killed and then brought back as a mini-psycho (well, if your parents had called you Gage, wouldn't you want revenge?) It is true that not all of the book made it to screen (but that's often the case with long-ish books). Nevertheless, this is the most disturbing and terrifying film I've seen in a long time. It's not just about gore and killing, it's a psychological tale which evokes thoughts about human frailty and the steps obsessions can drive us to.

I was impressed with the pristine video transfer considering how old this movie is already. The 5.1 soundtrack is also very impressive. There's enough LFE to make the Orinco trucks very intimidating. There's a fair plethora of spatial surround sound when Louis enters Jud's house near the end. It was great to get a feature commentary by director Mary Lambert. This really makes a BD worth buying. This is one of my all time favourite horror movies. It never fails to make my flesh crawl. I still remember watching it for the first time when it came out in 1989. This is probably my best Stephen King movie. It's really worth adding this title to your BD collection.

I had to order this item, when I saw it finally came in a very good edition.Everything was like I expected, and enjoyed watching it again and all the extra things included in this box.Very good experience.

Ordered this as a birthday present for my wife. If I'm honest I wanted it too.Neither of us had seen the film since its first release, so we were not sure if it would still live up to our collective memories expectations. Absolutely no need to worry. This is still a GREAT FILM. Okay it shows its age a little, but that just makes it a classic. We both thoroughly recommend this film. As for the people giving it poor reviews, I can only assume they are small minded individuals who are trying to impress. Buy it, you will enjoy it :¬)

Easily the most scariest and disturbing movie I have seen finally out on special edition DVD.I have never read the book but first saw the movie at five years old and I still am terrified of it.This is certainly one of the better Stephen King adaptions without a doubt.
