Excellent mattress protector
I bought a new full size mattress and wanted to protect it from dust mites and possible spills. I have bought this protector before, and loved it! It is easier to install if you have two people doing it, but can be done by just one person. I find it's easier to lay it on the mattress zipped up then unzip it and slide to the top of the mattress sliding half under the mattress while sliding the other half over the top of the mattress pull the lower half, under the mattress gently, while simultaneously gently pulling the top half then zip up and adjust as needed. There is a waterproof, terry cloth top and the rest is a durable material. It is very quiet when moving when trying to sleep. Some reviews state there was an odor upon opening the package. Neither of the covers we have purchased had any odor. However, if you do have an odor the cover is washable and dryable (low heat). It takes a while to dry though, but be patient. The zipper is tucked and hidden so it won't snag on anything. I definitely recommend this mattress protector

This product is really great and they stand behind it. Need to order. Can’t find it in stores.
I’m very surprised. We ordered it because we have had the worst months with bedbugs. It’s the worst bug I’ve ever seen or heard of that is so extremely hard to kill. They suck your blood while you sleep. Rarely do I see them during the day but they were dormant in a wall in a spare room and the bathroom. When these little vampires woke it was a vengeance. The bites are horrible. They crawl in around and across the bed, pillows. For absolutely months we tried everything to eradicate them. Only thing is a high heat by professional exterminator. 125 degrees or higher for up to 4 hours. It felt like we were moving. Check out the list of things to do first. Then there is the chemical treatment for weeks. Glue traps. We had a great company. One thing they said was get your ‘Mattress protector and pillowcase protector. ‘. So I did my homework. I love the choice we made. We have a king bed and and twin . I thought it was going to be hard. My husband, my brother and myself ready to open it up and try to get it on. We were saying WOW through the whole process. It’s so easy. Fits so well. Pillows were easy too. We got a total of 4 because we each have two. So glad because these bugs might come back. The exterminator was back and checked our bed and was very happy with the choice also. I know this is long but it was a thousand for the exterminator and at least a few hundred for sprays before hand. The bed protector is the best deal and we got a discount on Amazon. We slept with flashlights and I was a nervous wreck. At least we sleep without fear of being victimized by bugs at night. We saw a few after the mattress protector came but I called the exterminator and they are very determined to help us. One word of advice. When you shop for a mattress protector, try this brand, it protects of other things like mites and dust but this protects from bedbugs. You will never regret this cover. Ounce of prevention, before you get bit and for your family and guests. Worth the peace of mind. We had to get new beds, old ones on the curb trash day. Washer and dryer running every day. They said to just run heat but we just felt better doing it all. All on hot. Yes we have shrunk some clothes. With we diet and be healthy. Or get new clothes. So we’re dieting. Hope you don’t do this as we did. We didn’t want to do the heat treatments but it IS the only way.

Helped fix my bed bug problem
I live in a single family and haven't actually done any travelling for over a year. So really I have no idea how I got a bed bug infestation. I have a two and four year old that sleep in the bed with me, and the one that slept at the edge always end up with bed bug bites. At first I thought it was a rash caused by detergent but when I took the kids to the pediatrician he suggested that it may be bed bugs. So I removed the bed sheets and inspected the seams...sure enough, the side where the kids slept, there were small black droppings along the seams. I pulled the folds along the seams open and BAM! A bed bug darted out.First attempt:My first attempt in clearing out the infestation involved removing the bed frame and steam cleaning the mattress and box spring. I counted about 20 adolescent to adult bed bugs more "nymphs" than I could count. I could see that the bed bugs fell dead as soon as it touched the steam so I felt pretty confident that the bugs were wiped out after the steam cleaning...but two days later.... I found another 4 bites on my son's arms.So I ordered this mattress cover and some diatomaceous earth from Amazon. My plan was to trap the bed bugs inside the mattress cover and starve them to death. Supposedly bed bugs can survive up to one year with no food.Second attempt:I steam cleaned the whole mattress and box spring again...the mattress does get a little wet so I stood it on one end and left it t to dry for a couple hours. I was about to put the mattress back in place when I noticed one adult bed bug crawling along the side! I already bought this mattress cover, but that just tells me that steam cleaning in itself won't solve the problem. The bed bugs are just so small and flat that they can hide along the seams very effectively. So I put this Saferest mattress cover on. 3 days later, I found 2 more very small bites on my sons arms. There's no place for the bugs to hide with this mattress cover on so I suspect the bugs were hiding in the electrical outlet behind my bed, so I dusted the electrical outlet and the bottom of the mattress with diatomaceous earth. I think this multi-prong approach has worked as it's been almost 3 weeks now with no signs over new bites. Supposedly bed bugs tend to feed at least once a weekSO LET ME JUST SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THIS COVER:I bought the King Size mattress cover, and two twin XL low profile for my box spring set. Both were made with excellent quality. The zipper itself is low profile with small teeths to prevent the bed bug nymphs from crawling out. I don't know how Saferest did it as I didn't think it was possible but this material really does handle water well as well as it being breathable. As I said earlier, I have two kids so needless to say they've already accidentally spilled some water on the mattress cover. I washed the bed sheet, but only had to wipe the cover with a towel to dry it. I didn't let the water pool so I don't know how "waterproof" it really is. But so far it's been very impressive. Regarding comfort: I've been sleeping on this for 3 weeks now and I don't even notice the cover being there. I've used waterproof coverings underneath the sheets before when I was potty training my 4 year old, and they tend to make me sweat. But with this cover, I haven't experienced any of that. It's like I'm not even using a water proof cover.CONCLUSION:Hopefully this post will help you rid yourself of this annoying bug. Use a steamer to bring down the bed bug population. Then use the mattress cover (I definitely recommend Saferest) to trap any bugs still living in the mattress. The diatomaceous earth is to stop any other bugs from crawling up the bed to bite you. Supposedly the earth is safe for humans.

Great protection, but read this if you have a toddler
From a fit and feel standpoint, this protector is excellent. It goes on easily, stays perfectly in place through the night, and, most importantly, you completely forget it's there. No crinkling, no stiffness, no sleeping-on-a-tarp feeling. The mattress feels exactly the same with it on.One note on sizing: we're running an 8" mattress and there's a bit of slack. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing if you're on the thinner end. Here's my one genuine concern, and it's specific to toddler use: the plush velvet top, while comfortable, feels like it could absorb liquid before the waterproof layer does its job. With a standard fitted sheet on top, a nighttime accident may still require pulling the whole protector off for washing. The zippered encasement design is excellent for allergen and dust mite protection, but for active bedwetters you may want to pair this with a quick-dry flat waterproof pad on top as a first line of defense. For an older child or adult bed, I'd give this five stars without hesitation. For toddler accident protection specifically, just go in with the right expectations.Bottom line: Premium feel, perfect fit, genuinely unnoticeable.

Peace of Mind
I bought the SafeRest box spring and mattress encasements as a preventive measure, as my husband travels for work to multiple cities and states every single week. He stays at numerous different hotels and recently got bitten by bedbugs at one. We made sure he didn't bring any back, but I got the encasements just in case in the future. The mattress encasement zips on 2 sides of the mattress, and was fairly easy to install. The sides and the bottom are made of a tightly-knit plastic/nylon-like material, and the top side is made of a soft terry that's completely silent when you roll over in your sleep. I put a fitted sheet over the encasement, and you basically can't tell that there's even a cover under the sheet (but I use a firm mattress, so it might be different on softer mattresses in the way they sink etc). It also does not get any hotter since the terry-like fabric allows air flow--believe me, my husband and I are pretty sensitive to heat and would have noticed if otherwise. You can tell that this encasement is pretty tight-knit and holes-free because my mattress is only 12 inches tall and so the room left in the encasement created a giant air bubble after we put it on, and it took me and my husband laying down and doing snow angels on the mattress for a few minutes to get all the air out of there before we put the sheet over it.I have not tested the waterproof-ness of these cases, as we don't eat or drink on the bed, but because the top of the cover is terry with a smoother lining similar to the other sides of the encasement, it looks like it can at least absorb small amounts of liquids before it even reaches your mattress.I also purchased the pillow covers which are great, and with all the encasements, I have noticed that my sinuses feel better when I wake up in the morning too, which is definitely a plus.I know this is a hefty investment, but I would definitely recommend this to anyone for the peace of mind it brings and the hypoallergenic perks. I have researched all of the available products like this on amazon and other websites, but this brand seems to be the one that brings the quality with the value. I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchases and sleeping much better at night knowing that we're protected.

Very Good Quality
I installed this encasement on my mattress, along with the SafeRest box spring encasement, as a preventative measure and deterrent*, so I can't speak to whether or not these keep bed bugs in or out. What I can say is the quality is far superior to the original encasement I purchased (no names, comes in orange packaging). That one was a much cheaper material and was so hot to sleep on, I'd wake up laying in my own sweat. The terry top on the SafeRest encasement is fantastic --- soft, doesn't hold in the heat, I sleep like a baby on it. The SafeRest zipper is very tight and gave me no problems, and the Velcro closure at the end is a good added measure. The quality seems very good, no tearing, flexible, soft and durable material. Opens on three sides to install, which I did no my own. I just cleaned my floors well, laid the encasement down and open, placed the mattress on top, flipped the top over and zipped it up. If you have a one sided mattress, which most are these days, make sure the top of the mattress is on the terry side --- I didn't do this and ended up taking the encasement off and putting it on correctly. Don't try to put the encasement on with the mattress standing on edge or on end if you're doing it alone, it will be an exercise in futility.I work at a college and, because of the dorms, we've been educated about bed bugs. Because of this I might be a bit more cautious than many, but with bed bugs on the rise, I think these are a generally good idea --- especially in urban areas where your'e sharing cabs, trains and buses with the public. Anyone can bring them into a home, bed bugs don't care where you live or how much money you make. While the numbers are still on the human side (I believe something like 20% of households in the US either have had bed bugs or know someone first hand who has had bed bugs), once they're in your home the odds flip, so some forethought can be a good thing.*As with all encasements, you should know that these won't repel bed bugs, it will just prevent them from taking up residence in their favorite place, which is your bed and, most commonly, your box springs.

satisfied. would buy again.
I ordered a new mattress(locally) about two years ago and while waiting, thought it would be a good idea to get a mattress protector. After much comparison shopping, settled on this one. I wanted something to protect the mattress, hopefully extend the life of it and deter any bugs, mites, or anything that might consider crawling on it. This was the best deal/quality I could find. And I am very satisfied and would buy another one if I needed it.

Comfortable AND Useful
Imagine how horrified I was to move into an apartment after selling my house, only to have bedbugs turn up! The inspector couldn’t find any evidence of infestation other than the live one I found, so we still don’t know if it was the apartment, the movers, or the used moving boxes my Realtor kindly gave me. Nevertheless, part of the protocol for eliminating them is to use full encasements for the mattress and box springs if I don’t want to throw them out. There was no sign of bugs on them, so I went for the encasements.I have a king size bed with the usual split box springs, so I had to buy three encasements altogether. I wasn’t very picky about the box springs, but the mattress was a big deal. Almost all of the options were not only bug proof, but also waterproof. I had tried a waterproof cover before, but it had such bad heat feedback I threw it out within a week. Not only that, but it groaned and crackled, and was all around a bad purchase. So this time around I did a lot of research and read a ton of reviews, few-to-none said anything about noise or heat. By and large, this cover is the best. It’s important to note that a mattress cover is not the same as a mattress pad. A cover is just a shield with a few bonus features. A pad is a comfort enhancement. Some items want to be both, but I don’t think it’s possible. This is a mattress cover, protector, and in that role it’s a really good one. The tight weave of the fabric protects against allergens and the dreaded bugs. It sports a terry top with the expectation that you wouldn’t need/want an additional mattress pad, but it’s just too thin for me.After I installed the cover, I put on my mattress pad (after washing in really hot water and drying on high, of course), and the comfort level is intact. That is a very important note for me because, as noted, I can’t handle heat feedback. I haven’t noticed any change. The biggest issue I had against it was my king mattress and trying to will it into the cover. I’m just a 50-something short chick. I would have appreciated some tips and tricks included with the package, but I was on my own. Luckily, the zipper is really long, and you have about three-quarters of it being open to work with. My success was found in flipping the mattress up against the wall, unzipping the cover, and spreading it over the boxes almost like a fitted sheet, and dropping the mattress back down a little offset so I could slide it into the pocket of the unopened part without the cover sliding out of place. Then I just zipped it up!Again, this is not a mattress “pad.” The terry top is thin, but snuggly in a pinch. You would be a lot happier with a real mattress pad over it. The value of this is in the dust, allergen, bug properties. The whole thing is tightly woven fabric to keep the heebie jeebies out. Given how long you will keep your bed, and how long this will extend its life, plus that it doesn’t rustle, crackle, crinkle, etc., it’s worth the price.

Good mattress protector that works
This was a pretty good and affordable mattress cover. My Labrador had emptied his entire bladder on my mattress so I went to Sleep Country Canada to buy their cheapest mattress.I also wanted a mattress cover so I could protect my mattress, but they were selling it for a lot. I decided to check Amazon and I found this one that fit my new queen mattress really well.My toddler nephews later on peed on my bed and the mattress cover did its job really well and kept my new mattress dry.I will say however, washing it is really difficult because of how much water it keeps from the washing cycle. I once took it out to transfer it to the dryer and it was holding so much water that fell onto the ground.I still recommend this mattress protector!

The Great Mattress Protector Adventure!
I recently added the SafeRest Zippered Mattress Protector to my life, and let me say, it has been a rollicking ride under the sheets! First off, this thing is like my mattress's very own superhero cape—if capes were waterproof and breathable, and superheroes had to worry about spills, stains, and the occasional midnight snack attack.Installation was easier than finding a cat to pet on the internet. I simply zipped it on, and voilà! It was like giving my mattress a cozy sleeping bag. No more tossing and turning, wondering if I might unwittingly create a water park on my bed. (Spoiler alert: I'm still tossing and turning, but now it's just for fun!)Now, let's talk about the noise. Do you know how some mattress protectors sound like a bag of chips in a quiet library? Not this one! It's as silent as a ninja in a cotton field. I crawled into bed, and it was as if I was breaking the sound barrier—without the sound! It's truly breathtaking... in the most breathable way possible. And then there's the washing! With as many attempted cheese-stuffed movie marathon snacks as I have, I was worried it might end up like that embarrassing laundry disaster from last summer. But after a good wash, it came out looking like it was ready for the runway—no stains, no smells, just pure mattress protection glam.Overall, I feel like I'm living in a mattress commercial—sans the dramatics of sleep deprivation and unexpected spills. If you're looking for something that protects your mattress while keeping everything comfy, quiet, and easy to clean, this protector is your go-to. I highly recommend it! Just make sure to keep the snacks under control. Or don't; that's half the fun!
